I played my first game of Blood on the Clocktower this weekend! It was fun :)

(The evil team lost to a mayor, but it was close! Town had agreed to not aim for a mayor win, as they were worried that our mayor was poisoned. Unfortunately for the evil team, there was an accidental tied vote on the final day, so the mayor win triggered.)

In honor of Grimshire's Early Access coming out a month ago now, here are some drawings of my player character, Lupine, from the demo! I'm currently in fall for my EA playthrough, and so far everything's going smoothly...

Drawings from my sort-of-annual Blackrock rewatch last winter (these are specifically from the first episode!) Additional thoughts under the break.

This little series meant a lot to me as a middle/high schooler, and whenever I rewatch I remember why. It's something about the mix of silliness and seriousness that somehow don't contradict each other. It's something about getting to see these characters' relationships slowly grow and change, and about seeing them at their highest and lowest points. It's something about how this sort of story and tone feels like it couldn't have been told through any other medium, as strange as that is to say.

I'd love to draw more of the series in the future, and especially with some of the iconic scenes/settings/character designs. It felt right to start at the beginning, though.

Thank you to Rythian and Zoey for making such a special series, and thank you to everyone who's still thinking about it and keeping it alive through art, stories, and imaginings for over 12 years now (wow).

I love Wildermyth’s enemy designs so much. I tried my hand at some gorgons from the game, and a few new ones! (Individuals under the cut.)

...give me a child character (or two) in a video game and I will immediately protect them with my life.

I played the Grimshire demo a few weeks back, and I'm incredibly invested in this game — it's a farming sim, but the premise is that some Very Bad Things are happening outside of the village and you need to grow enough food to keep everyone fed. Also everyone's an animal. While it might not fit with the 'relaxing-ness' many people play farming sims for, I'm excited about a farming game with higher stakes and a darker tone.

It was only a matter of time before I joined this trend. I absolutely love how many Clangen blogs have sprung up, each with unique stories, characters that rip my heart out, and art I can and will stare at for ages. Here are six I particularly enjoy. (Specifics under the cut.)

Cats, in order:

Partridgechaser from @whispering-clan -- I'm super interested to see what a connection to the Dark Forest means in this context (where the good vs. bad associations of StarClan and the Dark Forest are blurred). I had the hardest time choosing who to draw from this Clan of all the blogs, but ultimately her DF association and cool design made me want to draw her!

Brackenshine from @glitterclan -- she's been through so much and deserves a break, but I feel like prophecy cats don't have much luck with that. I'm interested in seeing how she and her siblings interpret StarClan's message, and what they'll do next!

Dropletsplash from @splinterclan -- I love this story so much, especially seeing the unique relationships every member of SplinterClan has with each other. I often overlook Droplet in favor of the kits or their parents, but she deserves everything and is trying so hard. Congrats on the apprentice!

Petuniapaw from @clansofafeather -- I wish for their sake they had a better family, but I love a character who tries to be a good person (...or cat) despite being dealt a bad hand. I loved seeing them bond with Amber and the kits, and seeing them be so protective of them despite just being an apprentice. (This is technically not a Clangen blog but the artist/writer has done several of those too!)

Honeypaw from @the-exiled-comic -- technically not a Clangen comic, but I wanted to include someone from this one anyways! I love Honeypaw for his design, enthusiasm, and kindness, and I've enjoyed seeing more of him in the recent chapters.

Wildfirecry from @loudclan-clangen -- the last few updates have been rough, but I absolutely love the character moments and seeing Wildfire get his revenge. Such a cool artstyle, too! Please get out of the crude oil

I'm nervous I mistagged or misnamed anyone, so apologies if that's the case! All of these blogs are such inspirations to me and I'm excited to see where their stories go.

...something's wrong.

I think this is the quickest I've done a drawing with a background and lighting and stuff, heck. I just enjoyed this game and its feeling.
