i don't even know. they always say they are testing my understanding and not memorization. but ... pffft. (ok fine actually 3rd and 4th yr have been pretty good about the understanding rather than memorizing thing... for the classes i actually like anyway)

A Gift

So my motherasked me what I want for my birthday when I got home early this afternoon. I went through my usual list: my laptop back, dinner at Carabba's, and a pound cake. Then we just started talking about the usual stuff. 

After that small talk she went to her room and I began to think about how a friend and I have been working on a religion (with a name besides Paganism) and I remembered how we associated a symbol, metal, and stone to a deity/entity. We call kir Chance. Ke is the embodiment of Chance; he is the brother of Rhyme and Reason and son of Being and Life.... Anyhow, his symbol is a sort of modified infinity sign. When drawn there is a square left in the middle. And that caused me to come up with this idea.

I asked my mom if I could get a custom made necklace. A necklace of quicksilver with the previously mentioned symbol on it. I also asked her if we could get an onyx or obsidian stone/gem fixed into the square the symbol makes. 

My mom said that she would do what she could. I even told her that I would take the necklace over the laptop if we can't afford both because the necklace would mean SO much more to me. And I mean that.
