Injury Themed Prompts @whispersoftheveil said: i'll be as gentle as i can be , i promise. (cian @ dex)
He was still trying to process what had happened, barely able to register what Cian was saying to him in that moment. It had just been an ordinary evening, a regular date night which had been perfect. A lovely meal, some drinks shared with stories and laughs. But it was only when they were walking back to Dex's apartment when things had gone to hell. Quite literally, as well, as they were descended upon. At first, he didn't really realise what was happening, with his initial thought being that they were being mugged, but as his gaze fell on the figures that crowded them, Dex quickly realised that this was nothing that he had ever seen before.
Before he knew it, there was chaos, several of the strangers rushing at Cian and beginning to attack him, while he felt himself being grabbed roughly from behind. He tried to kick out, but somehow, he was being lifted from the ground into the air. What happened next was a blur. He recalled shouting out for Cian, or for help, or both maybe? He was lifted higher and higher, until something made him fall. He landed with a painful thud, his head hitting the ground and knocking him clean out.
So when he woke up in his own bed, wrist bandaged and Cian sat beside him, he was more than a little confused. He pushed himself into a seated position, hands rubbing over his face while he heard the soft words from his partner, feeling the gentle brush of a cool, damp cloth against the graze on the side of his face.
"Cian..." The word came out muffled. "Please... Just tell me what the hell that was back there?"

reading the big bad wolf wasn't the easiest thing in the world, he had to admit that. as confident as heinrich was in his own skill, sometimes he wondered if there was something he was missing. yet, the small moments like they were sharing now was proof that he had enough information. the touch through his hair was clearly a welcomed one. hook and sinker. he couldn't help the small smile that forged on his face when he realized that once again, he did good.
something that as of late, was only really saved for zeke's presence.
he couldn't afford to smile around too many people and be considered weak. no. he was the former king of a whole region. the current mayor of this small town. being weak wasn't a possibility. even as he brushed his fingers through the wolf's hair and scratched the back of his ears, he stood proud and tall. a stance that he felt could rival the likes of maleficent, scar, and the other villains that were roamning around.
not that he'd consider them real competition.
they weren't important. at least not right now. the person that was getting his full attention was the other man standing there with him. “the best tracker around.” that was also true, no reason to lie. a smirk formed on his face as he moved his hand down to the other's chin. he brought him closer, locking in with eye contact. “i want to see you naked.” if that was what he needed to hear, then he wasn't going to hold back from asking for it. demanding it, in a way. heinrich dropped his hand to give zeke the space to strip if he was ready to do so. which the witch hoped that he really was.
“i know you could find me wherever, but it would still be fun. something that's just ours.” no one else had to know what or who he was whistling for. their secret taht they could share.

the hiss of the helmet is so well known by now , that Poe can't help but smirk to himself just a little . he's aware that this is .. dangerous , in a way that's thrilling . flitting around the creed that Din had , they had found so many ways around it for things like this , but just barely . the pilot wouldn't ask for more , no matter how much he yearned for it . Din's oath was solid , and he would never ask the Mandalorian to break it .
his breath hitches when he feels the callous fingers pressing against the soft skin of his jaw , the stubble barely pebbling it ( he needs a shave , but that's for later ) .
the kiss steals his breath , his eyes closing despite the pitch darkness around them , and Poe finds his arms lifting , fingers trailing over beskar armor , dancing their way until he finds himself holding onto the other man . it draws the softest groan from him , heat igniting in his belly and throughout his chest . Din managed to get him to feel that every time , and he still isn't sure how . maybe it's the way the Mandalorian's lips feel against his ; desperate and wanting , matching his own .
it doesn't take much for Poe to sneak his tongue out briefly , deepening the kiss that much more , his mind beautifully blank . there is not war , no First Order , no resistance ... at least not in this moment . not until the kiss breaks and he's left with a soft increase in his breathing , the smile on his lips . he can feel Din pull back just barely , and he resists the urge to chase down those lips again .
" I've been told I'm a big pain in the ass , and very persistent . " it comes out as a soft laugh , one that fades in the darkness as he draws in a slow breath . " ... you know I won't ask you , " he admits , his chest tightening just slightly . " this ... I want this , and you , " Poe murmurs , feeling his lips brush against the other's just barely . " but I know your oath . so I try to get this as much as I can . " surely Din can feel how Poe smiles just a little . what can he say ? Din is an amazing kisser .
@whispersoftheveil gets a starter for cian
It was one of those days he just wished that would have never happened. No matter how fast they had arrived at the scene, they couldn’t have saved all the family members, yet that image haunted him the rest of their shift, and would probably continue doing so for the upcoming days. The only reasonable thing to do now was drink and try to forget. Theo could put aside his issues with Cian for a couple of hours since they were both affected by it —not that there was actually a beef or anything between them, it was more Theo’s reticence to the other’s constant positive and happy demeanor. He didn’t know exactly why it bothered him that much, but Cian seemed oblivious to his snark towards him, or maybe he just really didn’t even care. Either way, once Theo got drunk he would surely not care what the other did or say either.
Theo took a seat at the bar, not because he enjoyed having people nearby, but because Cian might find someone else to talk to instead of him at some point of the night. Waving the bartender for their attention, he turned slightly at his coworker. “What are you having? First round’s on me.” Cian couldn’t say Theo wasn’t at least trying to be nice.

By the time he had emptied another glass, only a few remained on that lost and forgotten tavern.
Hugo's finger moved around the edge of the glass, bringing some of its wetness to the corners where his lips hadn't touched. He was not paying attention to many things then, but his eyes rested on only one thing. In fact, only one person. The singer that hummed another song he didn't know. Not the typical tavern showman. A lot of the customers had left saying just that and the tavern owner seemed ready to finish the show. But not if Hugo could stop it. He held the owner's wrist and put a few golden coins in his hands. "Let the man be." As the owner moved away, Hugo got up and walked closer. He was in his "civilian clothes", black cotton shirt, dark steel plates over old leather. Nothing in him associated that man to the royal knights. It was better this way. Sometimes Hugo traveled the lands as a Black Knight, rogue in some ways, defending more than he ever could as a royal knight.
As if it had been part of his order, Hugo was stopped by the tavern owner that brought his another glass, the third of the night. Hugo barely looked at him as he whispered a rushed thank you. He was so close to the man that he was finally able to see him. His beauty, a bit rough on the edges, but beauty nonetheless. Something odd about him, like something pulling the strings of memory. He stepped closer to the stage, like an animal about to hunt, only to have the song around him stop. It made him stop too, now only inches away from where the improvised staged was. "Please, do not stop on my account. I do like to hear you play." He pulled another golden coin from the purse on his belt, pulling it out and showing to the man as he got even closer, leaning to leave it by the man's right boot.

Dean walked out of his dressing room, camera ready. They went live on the air in just a few moments, but he never let the time crunch phase or rush him. What were they gonna do? Start the segment without the anchor? He took a quick pitstop at craft services to get himself a quick swig of water to clear the throat. It also gave him an aple vantage point to eye their guest. A teacher. Math teacher, from what he could remember from his notes. Getting some kind of teacher of the year award. It was sweet. The kind of thing suburban coffee drinkers wanted to see in the morning. With a final chug, he set off.
Reaching the couches, Dean offered another of those award-winning smiles to the man quietly sequestered on the couch. "Don't tell me you've been here all this time? I hope the talent acquisition team took you to the green room, gave you some snacks. Do you need anything like that before we start?" Dean offered before sitting himself down in the adjacent seat. Segments never went well if the guests weren't cared for and Dean wanted a smooth show. The man was quiet enough as is. "We're really happy to have you here, by the way." And he meant it. Stories like James's gave the community a sense of heart they could be proud of, themselves. "We're just gonna do an easy back and forth. I'll ask you about your work, the award, the kids, all that fun stuff. And you'll be in and out of here before you know it, okay?"
Dean picked up the stack of branded notecards from his side table and offered his guest one final smile before they went live. "You're gonna be great, I know it."
