I’m having a little bit of an issue now with thinking about seeing Miss Peregrine. Not a huge issue. Just...enough that I’m not sure I’d pay to see it. I’m aware most movies have a mainly white cast. And this has been something that bothers me, especially when they try to throw in a token minority (especially when they throw in a black lesbian to combine minorities), but sometimes I’ll see the movie anyway. But I just read (albeit a kind of shitty yahoo) article about why all the main characters are white. And apparently it has something to do with it taking place a long time ago in Wales. Ok. Fine. I get historical accuracy and all that. Cool.

But then why isn’t the villain white? Why make the villain black if you’re sticking to historical accuracy and everyone around there is supposed to be white? That’s what’s bothering me. Not on a huge scale of injustice. But it’s this tiny shit like this that builds and gets locked in people’s subconscious. Why a black villain? Because black people are always playing the bad guys in the white cast movie, and white people are always the heroes.
