Hey reptiblr or anyone who knows about water - any idea why this would happen to water bowls in leopard gecko tanks?
I've never seen this before, but it appears to be mold on the surface of the water. I didn't spot it until today so it must've bloomed quite fast as I disinfected the bowls a few days ago. I use herp-specific water treatment because I taste the chlorine in the water here myself. Sometimes I do add a drop of a liquid multivitamin for reptiles, so I'm wondering if that could've caused it? I can't specifically remember if I added it last time but it tends to make the water slightly yellow so it looks like maybe I did.
I've obviously cleaned and disinfected them just now, but I'm curious if anyone has any good ideas or can confirm what caused it. I was in 4/4 bowls, though more in some than others, and my bf is going to also replace the rhacs' water bowls since we usually mix treatment (and potentially multivitamins) in a bottle before filling all the bowls up from it. I'll be using a new bottle as well
