A1, A2, B2, B3, and C1 for the fanfic ask?
A1: When did you start reading fanfiction?A LONG time ago, haha. Definitely more than a decade ago. I know I started out reading fics on Livejournal and Fanfiction.net, as well as Quizilla and the fanfiction forum on Nickelodeon’s message boards (which I am pretty sure no longer exists? Not sure, though.) I still use fanfiction.net as my main fic site (for both reading and writing) to this day.
A2: How did you find your first fic? It’s been so long that I actually don’t remember what my very first fic was? ^_^’’ I do remember that someone online mentioned the word ‘fanfiction’ to me, and younger me was like ‘OOH, WHAT’S THAT??’, so I eagerly searched for fics from all my favorite series at the time.
B2: What’s the best time of day for reading fic? Why?For me, it’s in the evening. I’ve been dealing with a lot of anxiety for awhile, especially lately, and sometimes reading fics helps calm me down before bed. Aside from that, I tend to be in more of a reading mood in the evening/night.
B3: What’s the best device to read on (phone, laptop, tablet…)? Why?Laptop. Definitely laptop. (I may be biased because I love my laptop [and desktop versions of sites] more than my phone/mobile versions of sites, but whatever, XD) Not to mention, the screen is bigger, so reading is easier. I will read fanfics on my phone if I don’t have my laptop with me, though.
C1: What trope are you tired of reading? Why?Hmm, this is a tough one. I mostly read stuff I know I will like. But if I had to pick a trope that I am tired of, it’s ‘Soulmate AUs’. I never was really fond of the idea to begin with, so I rarely search those fics out.I also don’t read smut, so I am tired of seeing smut fics every time I browse for fics of my favorite series. (Which is why my fanfic site of choice is fanfiction.net, since this is less prevalent on there than Ao3.)
Thank you for sending me these; they were so fun to answer!!
