Hi, Polish person here. I've just read your post on "why do you love Poland" and all I've got to say is: thank you. It's really touching and inspiring to know that there are still some people outside of the country who believe that we can change something, especially now, when everything we've build around us seem to crumble into to dust. Thank you so much for your kind words! And since I get the feeling you're from the USA - good luck with getting rid of Trump! Kick his ass.

So many of Poland’s accomplishments get ignored or brushed aside by other nations; a lot of the time so that those other nations can take credit for them, or because we want to forget the part we've played in betraying or undermining your country at both its brightest and darkest moments. I can’t imagine how frustrating and futile that must feel. And I can’t imagine how agonizing it must be right now to be in Poland and see the democracy you fought so hard for being corrupted by right-wing extremists and the greedy. On top of the anti-Polish hatred coming from Britain right now in the wake of Brexit? Which is pretty fucking fresh, considering that Poland has been one of Britain’s most steadfast allies, even when Poles were struggling just to ensure that there would still be a Poland.

But not everyone accepts the revisionist history, or listens to the anti-Polish slander. I admire your country very much. And if there’s anywhere that I trust to fight back when things turn to shit, it’s Poland. My heart is with you!

For the Pokemon gym leader thing: ghost type, because ghosts are the closest to void, Mismagius as signature Pokemon, because it's witchy.

4. A character you rarely talk about?

From my “main” OCs, that would be The Siren. It’s always a bit more difficult to talk about characters that embody a feeling, instead of having a long life story they can tell.

5. If you could make only one of your OCs popular/known, who would it be?

Probably Kanya, my assassin OC (and by that I mean contemporary hitmen, not the videogames). Her story is long, easily told, and holds a lot of personal meaning for me. (Also many thanks to soviczka for making glorious fanart of my characters I can link to in moments of desperation over my own art.)

23. Introduce OC that has changed from your first idea concerning what the character would be like?

Steven is a special case in this. His character stayed the same, but he is the only one of my characters who was allowed to be resurrected in a way after being killed (and he had to persuade me for a long time). He is the love interest of Elizabeth, my vampire OC.

39. Introduce any character you want

Say hi to Maëlys, my Pokémon OC. She’s from Sinnoh and her story is about discovering who you are through conquering challenges, including but not limited to: the Sinnoh league, dealing with her rival, chasing Darkrai over the entire region and also figuring out what to do in life.

(I haven’t heard from her in about three years now, though.)

1. The meaning behind my URL

'Cauchemar' means 'nightmare' in French and 'rose' is my favourite flower.

Some years ago some of my friends were calling me ‘cauchemar’, because I looked like a real nightmare when I had about 10 kilograms of underweight.

For me combination of these two words means something like delicate and elusive (like dreams and also nightmares), but still powerful and full of life (like blooming rose) person.
