tutorial: white border icon
The icon above is the icon I'm going to do a step by step guide on how to make. The icon is 150x150 but I'll also do the measurements for 240x240.
I'm just going to do it how make it so if you get confused or have any questions then message me here.
1: First of all, get your picture. It's best if it's high quality or medium quality because making icons look good when they're low quality can be tricky. I got my picture here from a Barbara Palvin fansite.
2: Next, open your picture up in Photoshop. Then select the crop tool and make the size 100x150px unless you want your icons to be 240x240 then change the size too 170x240px.
3: The next step is to simply crop the section of the image you want, and after it should look like this:
4: You need to next put your PSD effect onto the cropped image before you make it icon sized. If you want my PSD then just leave me a message. Once you've done this, it should look like this. (but obviously with the PSD you're using).
5: Now we have to change the cropped image into the icon. Normally I just go one file, the create a new image and make it 150x150px (or your preferred size)
You should have this..
6: Lastly, all you need to do is to copy & past your image into this one and you should have a white border icon. Be sure to do any effects you want such as sharpen or topaz to create your icon how you want.
There ya go, I hope it helpful and sorry if it was a bit confusing or a but dumb-ed down for some I just wasn't really sure what sort of images I should screen cap. If you have any questions, would like any of my resources or any requests for a tutorial then leave me ask.
