Finally i managed to watch this movie. It was worth the wait. The best to know is that the 274 dogs who participated came from shelters and they all found a home at the end of filming.

White God (2014): (I’ve been struggling to write a longer review for White God and it’s caused a bit of a pile up. I’ve decided to only write them for newer releases of the past 2-3 years instead. Eventually I want start recording them for YouTube because honestly, who’s going to read a blog?) Due to the Hungarian government implementing a fee for mongrel dogs, a young girl is separated from her pet so her father can save money. In an attempt to be reunited with his owner, the dog experiences dog fights, pound workers and other abandoned strays, resulting in a new agenda to take bloody revenge on humanity. Little about White God differs from your usual soppy dog tearjerker, all the conventions are in place but each one given a less corny take. The antagonists represent the establishment in a less pantomime, much darker way, the dogs in the film aren’t given differing funny personalities and the poignant ending comes with a price. This blending of harsh realism and the wholesome tug on the heartstrings is something I admired but isn’t everything the film has to offer. The overall statement being made can work as an unflinching view on the way animals are treated by people but I think a bigger allegorical commentary on the alienation of minorities generally is at play here. (I mean the film is called White God.) Manipulating the audience by presenting underprivileged hardships through the often harrowing narrative of a dog slowly being broken down to pure anger, was extremely powerful for me. After the killing spree, when dog and owner finally meet again, the films intentions before aren’t sold for a cheap kiss and makeup. Only when the girl lies on the floor and shows the pack of stray angry dogs that they are equal, is there peace and it creates an image that will stay with me for a while. White God is consistent with its message, beautiful in its simplicity and doesn’t mind putting you through some tough imagery to get its point across. 很多人看過這部電影都說， “God”倒轉寫是 “Dog”, 狗狗是神照不可侵犯的， 既是有血有淚的生物， 也是人類忠誠的朋友。 牠們不是人類的玩物，玩完即棄。 而且不應把狗狗劃分是名種或是雜種狗， 畢竟都是一條生命。

電影假設了若狗狗進化至有仇恨心 會去到一個怎樣的地步。 講述人類對流浪狗各色各樣的嫌棄， 有的更把牠們作鬥狗牟利， 樂意看牠們為生存而自相殘殺。 而主角Lily 和Hagen有著情深的關係， Hagen因為被鄰居報警說被一隻雜種狗咬傷 (匈牙利對養雜種狗要收稅), 所以Lily的爸爸被迫要流放牠到街頭。 但流放之後Lily 一直不肯放棄追尋Hagen。 Hagen在流落街頭面對世態炎涼的人類， 也當過一隻鬥犬，最後牠走到動物收容中心， 讓數以百隻曾經遭受傷害的流浪狗 對人類進行大反擊。

到電影結尾Lily總算找回Hagen, 但這時Hagen已是二百隻流浪狗的首領。 導演不忘在這說明狗狗其實是有人性， 當Hagen 聽到Lily 在吹牠常聽見的小號曲， 牠乖乖地引領狗群伏在地下。 這說明其實人和狗可以和平相處， 只視乎你怎看待一隻小狗。 【White God 狗眼看人間 🇭🇺 】
