“I guess Court was right.”
Wait! Tyler and Whitney got a dog together?!
His name is Cheddar hes a really chubby golden retriever puppy and Tyler is a very proud dad. Tyler really wants kids but Whitney said no kids until after college so Tyler panicked and got a dog.
I'm definitely not sorry 😎
"like father, like son."
i haven't seen a lot of talk about this pairing, but last night as i was falling asleep, i was thinking a little bit about why courtney/rick works really well as a ship
basically, they're both these headstrong leader-types who struggle to sit back and let someone else be in control. well, particularly rick has trouble letting courtney call the shots, as shown in the latest episode. he's also generally a guy who doesn't really think before he acts, he just dives headfirst into whatever he wants to do.
and courtney is like that too, she has generally acted without thinking ever since she got the staff. except when she was forced to work with others, she finally began to think more before she acted and has become better able to plan things out first. i mean, she was about to shut off the power to an entire hospital, but thanks to yolanda, courtney was able to step back and realize the flaws in that plan, and the staff too stopped her before she could go through with it. when she officially teams up with the others, she says she has a plan in mind for how they should go about this break-in, but rick and yolanda act before courtney can get her words out.
so, basically i think rick can really learn from courtney. learn to think before he acts, and even learn to follow someone else's lead. bc he's obviously been raised as an only child with a neglectful uncle keeping an occasional eye on him. he's not used to following someone else's instructions, but in the fight with sportsmaster, he learns his mistake, because he dives headfirst into the fight and gets hurt in the process. if he listened to courtney, he might have suffered a lot less injuries.
and you can already see him beginning to change towards the end of the fight, after courtney saves him from being crushed by a car. he realizes that he should have listened to her, and gives up his alpha/leader role as he and the rest of the team stands behind courtney to face off against sportsmaster and tigress. he and courtney share a small nod, as if to show the transfer of power, that rick is finally letting courtney take the lead.
so, going back to general speak, i just like that idea of how much rick can learn from courtney, especially as he begins to let his guard down around her and the other girls. it makes for a nice dynamic between them. kinda like wonderbat, in a way - both fight for the role of leader, but it's the girl who's really better suited for that role, and eventually the guy surrenders that control.
not to mention, they've also both suffered loss and had new paternal figures forced upon them that they didn't ask for. they've also never really gotten over their losses and are now seeking revenge (courtney says justice, but in this instance, the words are kind of interchangeable) against the people who killed their loved ones (even though starman is likely Not courtney's actual dad).
so basically, there's a lot of parallels between the two characters, and parts of their personalities force them to clash, but as long as they're willing to work together, they'd be a really strong pair
Are splaine exclusive and what are whitlers plans for collage etc?
Splaine aren’t exclusive right now but they don’t really see other people anyway. Whitney is a year younger than Tyler so he’s thinking about going to the closest college and do his gen eds during her senior year and then just going wherever she goes after. They’ve decided he is going to be the stay at home parent when they have kids so he’s not as into college as she is.

Ever since he got out of his childhood home, Rick's slept better than he could remember since his parents died. He's not sure exactly what it was - the freedom from his uncle, the soft, quality sheets of his new bed, the company he found himself with - but for once, he felt relaxed. Truly, blissfully at ease.
Most mornings, such peace would push him to sleep in a bit, which was fine on weekends, but not so much on days when he had classes.
Like today.
He hadn't even remembered it being a school day when he'd gone to bed the night before. And he was so enthralled with his dream, in which he had the power of his dad's hourglass running through his veins as he beat up faceless bad guys with his girls by his side. It wasn't really a dream he wanted to wake up from, since it gave him such a thrill.
Though the feel of soft lips brushing against his face was a nice way to be brought out of it.
"Hi," he said as he blinked awake, squinting at the bright sunlight that shone into the room. Courtney was sat in front of him, and thankfully blocked the worst of the light from his line of sight. Rick couldn't help but admire the way the light illuminated her from behind, her golden curls almost glowing as if she had a halo wrapped around her head.
"Good morning, sleepyhead," Courtney said with a sweet little giggle. The way her nose crinkled had Rick's heart warming, a feeling he was quickly starting to get used to having these days. "It's after ten."
"Yolanda and Beth are in class?" Rick asked.
Courtney nodded. "Yup. They'll be back in an hour. And then you and I have Chemistry at one."
"Yeah, we do," Rick said, smirking.
Courtney snorted. "We have chemistry class at one. Our actual chemistry has no set schedule."
Rick smiled, before yawning suddenly, stretching his arms.
"You know," he said. "I'm still kinda tired. I think I could use a little something to help wake me up."
Courtney smiled. "And what might that be?"
"I think you know."
Courtney laughed and bent down to kiss Rick again, properly this time. He kissed her back, wrapping an arm around her waist to pull her against him. As she went, her legs extending on top of his, he was quick to roll them over so that he was on top, before trailing kisses down her jawline and neck.
"Rick!" Courtney said through a laugh. "Come on, we have work to do before class! And you still need to eat!"
"Fine," Rick said against her neck, giving a playful little nip against her skin before he sat up and climbed off of her.
"Thank you," Courtney said as she sat back up. She turned, throwing her legs over the edge of the bed before standing. Before she could leave, though, Rick grabbed her hand, pulling her in for one last kiss.
