Oh yeah, same bullshit over here, just the same. The good news is, now she's dead the worst of it is over. Both in terms of her personally not being able to cause any more trouble, and as far as family pressuring you to make amends. You get to move ahead with your life and all your grandmother's rubbish is in the past. Just don't let anyone try to keep it present for you; it can't change anything now and you don't need that shit.

how I feel about this character: TFA was promising and then I fully disliked her after TLJ; TROS didn’t remotely undo the damage from TLJ and reinforced some bad shit on that front. I try to give zero flips about her as a character and honestly still dislike her a bit; incredible.

one thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon: literally any planning for her character arc? not threatening prone figures on the ground with a weapon in every movie? not being invested in ~saving an adult man who made his own horrible decisions that involved mass genocide one week earlier? yeah. hate all of this. flames...on the side of my face.

I just watched Triple Frontier and I wouldn't recommend it; good as the cast is, they can't lift a mediocre story, and for you personally I doubt it would scratch your outlaws itch (it doesn't really play out that way), plus there is only one female character who appears in more than one scene, and she's still barely in the movie. It's less testosterone-fuelled hoo-rah than most films of its kind but it certainly doesn't cut the 'marines are warriors' crap. I don't think you'd be impressed. :)
thank you for this! it made me decide not to bother with the movie when you sent it; I’ve just been on the road since then. I haven’t heard anything compelling in the alternate direction so I think I’ll skip it entirely :)

The characters feel more like they’re all in the same place because that’s the show, rather than feeling drawn to each other and bonding on individual levels. It makes me worried about the show losing its touch.
I know I’m in the minority on this opinion but I don’t think it’s enough to say the show is losing its touch or that it’s all bad writing or somesuch. the show operates on pulling the rug out from under us and switching the game from what we thought it was, so until the season’s finished, I’m not going to make a final call on that front. I know it’s off, but I also know there’s a good reason it might be off and I just don’t know what it is. we’ll see.
