#kimickaphotoaday Day 14: Valentine’s Day Happy Valentine’s Day!
My dad got me a box of chocolates! 😊 We also made cookies, however something is up with our oven and it wasn’t working (it wasn’t heating up the way it’s supposed to..), so we attempted to use the microwave. It’s a convection microwave or something, and it did work. But as you can see they weren’t as pretty. They still tasted great though. Lol. Anyway. Lol. Happy Valentine’s Day!

I think I mentioned I got that Candies of the World Advent Calendar. I've been giving my sister updates on what they are.
When we were little, our grandfather would get those Whitman Samplers of candy. Or sometimes a Russell Stover. But back in the 80s, young'uns, they didn't have that piece of paper or map of what the candies are. So it truly was like Forest Gump says, "you never know what you're gonna get."
I was always looking for caramels. But sometimes they'd disguise the goddamn cherry cordial bullshit and I'd fall for it. Or some coconut monstrosity.
Anyway, after awhile my sister and I discovered that since we are little and our hands were even littler then, we could poke the bottom of the chocolates (without fully breaking them in half, it was a delicate operation) and see what was inside. If it was some pink goo, we'd put them back for some unsuspecting family member to take.
Well today's candy is some cocoa covered apple thing from Lithuania. And I'm sorry to tell you this, Lithuania, but these fuckers taste just like the ones I'd put back. I took one bite and am looking for relatives to trick into eating them, except I live alone now. Damnit.
