19. Share a snippet from a wip without giving any context for it.
I work on my fics linearly so its hard to find a wip. I have a few more that have outlines, but it's not the same. Here's one:
The ever-present smile finally fades from Luo Binghe’s face. “No?” he repeats, questioningly. His face darkens. “Shizun would reject this lord’s hospitality?” “I–” Shen Qingqiu starts, panicked, casting around for an answer that won’t somehow make things worse. “This master would not presume to overstep–” Fingers close around his jaw as he’s trying to tilt his head down, to bow for forgiveness even while sitting so exposed in this bed. Luo Binghe wrenches his head back up, hard enough that Shen Qingqiu feels his eyes watering in response.
21. Can you accurately predict how long your fics are going to be? If you can, what's your secret?
Yes, with a few caveats. If the fic is under about 40k, I can predict within about a ten percent give or take. This is because my scenes are very outlined and so I have a very clear idea about how many words it will take to fill them out. Once the fic exceeds around the 30k mark I can't tell so much, because my outlines become somewhat less filled before I start writing. I still hit all the beats, but I will expand on my outline for individual scenes as I go, and this causes the discovery that I had more words I needed to write for some bullet points than others that I just hadn't fully considered yet. The Big Bang is hurting me right now.
30. Describe a fic that almost happened, but then it didn't.
Uh, I think that my Bloodborne AU somewhat fits the bill. It's been something I've wanted to write since probably somewhere mid-2024, and I don't come up with a lot of ideas on my own so this was pretty big for me. I really wanted to write Shen Yuan as the doll (SJ as Lady Maria) and Binghe as the hunter, and have him grow slowly more insane until SY sacrifices himself in order to force Binghe to use all of his insight to save him and restore his sanity. It didn't happen because it sounded very hard to write.
I also really want to write sequels to a few of my fics that probably will never get sequels.
40. Write a 9-word fic.
Nine words is SO SHORT, that's barely a sentence. (This complaint was nine words long)
"Found you, Shizun," croons the demon behind the barrier.
33 (bonus). You are so sweet I am so certain this is about octobing/bleached bones. I could not shut up about the ocean in that fic and I recognize this, so i'm glad it was entertaining!
