After the virus was removed from Moon, he had to practically be forced by his brother to talk to Glamrock Freddy and Gregory. He had zero memory of what he did when he was infected, and what he’d been told from Sun hadn’t been good. The only indicator that something strange happened was that he couldn’t speak for a few weeks afterwards- it felt like he gargled sand paper, it was NEVER supposed to be that gravely and the moment the virus was gone his voice box shut off.
It felt like being a naughty child who was being disciplined for something they couldn’t remember, and honestly it stressed him out. Messing with a kid was bad enough, it’s his job to take care of children and he apparently managed to give a good amount of them severe trauma, but fucking with Freddy was even scarier. Now, yes, with the virus he had the confidence to attack Freddy to get to Gregory. He’s strong enough to do that, still. So why is he scared of him?
He’s a pussy.
Okay just because he’s capable of taking on this ten foot tall beast of an animatronic doesn’t mean he’s eager to. He’s a beanpole animatronic meant to care for toddlers, He may be decently strong, but Freddy could still rip his head off if he really wanted to. And as far as he knows he just pissed him off.
So when Gregory and Glamrock Freddy came to the daycare and Sun forced him to interact with them, he kept his distance from them both while Sun did the talking. Both because he was scared of Freddy, and because he was ashamed for scaring Gregory and didn’t want to scare him anymore. Sun shoved his brother to talk to them- quite literally shoved him from the place he was hiding behind the desk- and he first talked to Freddy since Gregory was still a bit suspicious of him. Though, when he saw how the normal non virused moon acts, he lost a lot of the fear he had for him. It’s hard to stay scared of him when he’s so clearly socially awkward.
It took several hours and lots of coaxing for Moon to realize that Freddy was not going to punt him for his assholerly. Freddy felt pretty bad to have given off that impression, and didn’t expect Suns brother to be this quiet, so he tried to be careful with him. Not because he was scared of him, but because of the reverse, which is rather ironic.
It took longer for him to get the courage to talk to Gregory, and he ended up initiating it because Moon was taking too long to build up the confidence to talk to him. While he still remembered what moon was like before, by then he was just over this anxious dork. Once Gregory established that no, he wasn’t traumatized and Moon can stop radiating as much stress as a robot can, they got along fairly well and Moon calmed down.
