Has anyone thought/talked about how since most companies require degrees in a ‘related field’ for positions where 20-30 years ago you wouldn’t have needed a degree and would have been trained on the job by the company? And how companies are basically having YOU pay to get yourself trained instead. Which I’m sure saves them quite a bit of money.

Like 30 years ago you could maybe have gotten a degree in like marketing, sales or a trade, but you could also be super successful without a degree. Today it’s either almost, or completely impossible without a degree. For marketing you’d have to get super lucky. For trades you might be able to get lucky, but I’m pretty sure you need a certification/assocites to work at most places. Sales is really the only one that you still have a decent shot at doing without a degree.

1. What was the last movie you saw?

In the theater I saw The Force Awakens in IMAX. It was lifechanging.

I just watched The Mortal Instruments with @iamthegrilledcheese because it is the best trainwreck. The wearwolves have a team bus. It’s fantastic.

2. What was the last song you listened to?


Hoops by The Rubens

3. What was the last show you watched?


Ace of Cakes. I’ve been working my way through all of the Food Network stuff on Netflix like there’s no tomorrow

4. What was the last book you read?

The Exiled Earthborn (Earthborn trilogy book2). It’s alright, a bit cheesy. The first one was better, but I’m a sci-fi nerd so oh well.

5. What was the last thing you ate?


Butter Chicken and Naan. That I made myself might I add.

6. If you could be anywhere else right now, where would you be?

Scuba-diving/snorkeling the Great Barrier Reef with people again

7. If you could pick a decade to travel back to in time, what would it be?


Do I have to travel back? I’d rather travel forward. If anything I would go back to when I was in middle school to tell myself to stop wearing hoodies.

8. If you won the lotto & millions in cash, what would be the first thing you would do?


I would honestly give most of it away. Charities and buying people gifts. Maybe a couple things for myself, and then invest the rest.

9. Which fictional character would you like to hang out with for a day?

The main character from The Music of Dolphins. It’s a book I fell in love with like as soon as I started reading, so it’s a pretty low reading level, but I love it. Sometimes I take an evening and re-read it, I love the ideas behind it so much.

10. What was the last fandom you joined?

Um? Supernatural back in 2013 I think? I loved the show, but haven’t kept up with the last 2 seasons as much. Maybe I’ll have a marathon once school’s out.
