once again rotating the idea of whump video games, as I know at least several of us do from time to time, so here's some open questions for the community:
what are you craving from a whump game? have any games ever scratched that itch for you, or gotten close?
(for the record I don't mean whumpy cutscenes or storylines, I mean something where the gameplay itself is delivering whump)

i must must must recommend the game BLOODMONEY to you all. it's a FREE, short (~20 minutes), extremely-whumpy browser game about torturing a guy. the voice acting is SPECTACULAR and involves lots of begging. there's 3 endings. check it out here:

In it you play the role of a woman who's escaped her previous whumper, but is captured by him again, and he's determined to make sure she never escapes again. It's a short game (10~20 min) has some branching paths but they all lead to the same ending.

Prey at the Altar is a free jrpg maker game developed by monkadevs where you are an Agneau, a lamb raised by a cult to be sacrificed for their Wolf goddess. The day of your sacrifice has finally arrived and you must decide how do you want to proceed.
Takes around 20 minutes to get all three endings. Has some gorey descriptions and some interesting commentary on gender and cult dynamics. The art is also adorable.

Animal Village is a 2016 shooting game made by Rastek for a horror jam with minor dating sim elements, about exploring a giant pit where parts of a village that have sunken into a massive pit. The entire game is permeated by a dark, eerie atmosphere as you descent further into the pit. While it can be completed in around 30 minutes, It can also be quite hard, took me 1~2hours without a controller. itch.io page and download
Shutdown is a very short text-based game where you are playing as a robot/doll who's being refurbished. Made by kalechips on itch.io, can be played on bowser and takes less than 5 minutes to complete.
