sorry for the late reply - technically it is late, but I thought of something lovely, so here it is:

The village is quiet as you walk home, side by side, not another person in sight. He keeps a polite distance, but it still feels as if your bodies are pulling together, your skin yearning to touch each other, as if he's beckoning you to reach out and entwine you fingers with his.

"Have you--"

"I've--"

Your cheeks suddenly burn. "Please, go on."

He's quiet for a few paces, collecting his thoughts anew and then looks down as he asks; "did you ever have the opportunity to watch a motion picture?"

You turn to look at him. A gust of wind blows through his hair, playfully and strangely intimate, contrasting with the stern expression of his profile. Your heart beats faster.

"I was quite taken with L'Inferno."

You reach your destination and bid each other goodnight.

A challenging character

I have done a number of things over the last few days, some random, some necessary, pretty much all a form of procrastination of my writing.

I whacked out four fics in three days last week and another one two days later. Here I am a good four days since then and I haven’t even started the next one.

Why?

Okay, I will admit that churning out so many fics in a short space of time does wear out the writing muscles. But honestly, there is one reason really that is causing all this...

John Tracy.

Why the frickin’ hell am I so hesitant to write this guy? He is a gorgeous ginger, smart, lovely voiced stardreamer who used to be my fav when I first started watching the show. But for some reason, I freeze up when trying to write him.

It’s not that I haven’t written him before, I have, on several occasions. Of course, on several of those occasions I have had major kick ass arguments with him because he won’t bloody do what I want him to do.

Then there was the time I wrote John and ended up with a red-headed, tall, freckled Virgil on the page instead. That was disturbing.

And there have been all the times I have tried to write a John focussed fic and had Virg barge in and steal the spotlight.

Why?????? I don’t have this problem with the other brothers!

And yes, the fic I’m procrastinating is John focussed whump. At least the whump part I’m good at.

Maybe this Virg writer is peering up at all those magnificent John writers and trembling in her shoes?

Aaargh!

Just write the damn thing! You even have a bad guy lined up, for goodness sake.
