Long before skateboard controllers, free roaming and driving cars, the Tony Hawks franchise was about skating with style.

Don’t believe me, then go back and play the best in the series, Tony Hawks 2. What a badass game.

Soundtrack Lets get this out there, contradictory to my previous statement, the soundtrack is the best part. From Rage against the Machine and Public Enemy, to Mos Def and Papa Roach it’s just one awesome sound after another. Back then you didn’t need to import your own songs to a game, because the songs already rocked.

  Gameplay It’s all here. Grinding, Handplants, Christ Air, The 900. Not to mention Noseslides, Tailslides and Bluntslides becoming mainstays of the genre. Endless skating and racking up utterly ridiculous combos is the name of the game. Only the best players need apply. And you could prove your quality by playing horse with friends and wasting away most of the after school hours like we did.

Sure it looks a bit dated now, but lets call it vintage instead.
