Okay, so...
...why are we so easily offended these days? It seems to me as if everyone would be hyper-aware of everything around them, and recognizing their surroundings as weapons turned against them.
How did we come from "This is a satire, just laugh at yourself" to "I am offended to my very core"? From "I am allowed to state my opinion whatever it is in a respectful manner" to "If I do not apologize before saying anything, I will be seen as a racist b**tard"?
Why does it seem like that?
Why am I being talked down just because I happen to be a white female in her mid-20s? Why should I feel bad for it? Why do I hear the word privileged, when this is just a situation?
I see myself as an open-minded person, ready to talk about issues that are important from a human rights view, and I can be just as happy about same-sex marriage as any other because love is love, and love should be celebrated.
But no one has the right to tell me that I am privileged.
Having different opinions make the world colorful and diverse.
But no one should demonize me just because I don't share some of the views...
I enjoy satiric comedy, and watching cartoons that overexaggerate features typical to groups of people. Yes, even about white women, because nothing is funnier for some parts of the Internet than hwhite girls...
But that does not make me racist.
That's it, end of rant. Sorry for the word vomit. :(
