UBEROS
Pros
- as a gatekeeper and custodian, they are a naturally very safe presence- and would more or less extend this to those they would come to keep investments in. this is both psychical as well as an emotional reassurance, as their magic is an influential trait and can linger. Even if they aren’t present, their eyes could be there, ready to spring to life in one’s defense.
- they are overly inquisitive about tyria outside of the ever-shifting universe of the mists that they know so well. to some, it might be endearing; having a large, near nine foot stone monolith asking how certain do-dads and simple things about humanity work lmao
- for a being that carries near a hundred of spirits inside their hollow marble body, they are the opposite of loud! they are a good listener, and have very little sway in terms of smaller matters. also chuffs and makes pleasant hums of noise when they are pleased by something thats said or done.
- when they aren’t off confronting anomalies or scaring off ambitious tourists in the mists (lmao), they are actually quite gentle. oftentimes they are very cautious about where they tread, and are conscious of their large size. their handling of mortals and non-mortals that aren’t hostile is treated with similar wariness. they are a powerful source of energy, made for safeguarding and fighting… and engaging in the opposite is always an interesting challenge. (u: when engaged in more peaceful affairs, they usually bow their head or sit down. fsdhfjk (would definitely let u ride on their back or sit in their lap if u asked)
Cons
- subtracting all sort-of kindnesses above aside, their sense of purpose dictates all else foremost. they are not a native to being outside their duty and it would never stay that way. moments and people not absorbed in their collective voice are fleeting in their wide pool of knowledge. if one was not directly a significant piece in the grand design, they wouldn’t have a need to reappear.
- unfortunately, one would never actually have a conversation with the original uberos. uberos was just a name that was erased overtime, and lost it’s identity to the many faces they’ve collected. the base personality that’s presented has very little emotion or opinion, and just serves it’s job as guarding forbidden pockets of the mists.
- that being said, in tyria, some of these “faces” can be potentially louder than others. random memories from spirits uberos has taken can be projected without warning, making them abruptly reveal a Feeling before it’s gone again
- some lives are more consequential than others, and faith must be balanced with suffering )v: bad dog
- BARKS AT PPL EVEN WHEN U SQUIRT THEM WITH WATER!! BAD DOG
WHYSRA
Pros
- literally as many arms. four is the default but six can happen. an ideal source for good hugs. is also almost always floating to some level- expect to maybe realistically get carried away with their excitement. im sorry
- they are invested, and interested, in universal experience- and will almost always be willing to try something new. sometimes regardless of it’s level of danger. this curiosity, as well as others reactions involved, is painfully genuine
- following that thought, they are highly empathetic! while they are, in fact, a seer made to foresee potential outcomes of the future- a lot of whats expressed is taken to with others in mind. they want the well-being of people, and this maximizes with those they care about. they are very considerate (maybe conscious) of others, and their comfort.
- their smile is trained to be all-knowing, but guiding. in happier times, whysra reflects this indefinitely- and it turns too excited in the present. they have giddy laughter and sometimes when they get going being amused at something almost everything becomes funny. tbh
- is very knowledgeable about old and unusual things, and tyria’s history overall. beneficially, random facts can just be spoken at any given time. happy birthday
- can be compellingly elegant. were one into their external talent, their hands and arms move in waves, and they have a profound singing voice. in the expectation of songs and soft-words made for someone, whysra would make them
Cons
- while whysra can scope into the possibilities of fate and how events may come to pass, these instances are constantly changing. as time moves, they can only attempt to determine what can be the most likely outcome. This can leave whysra very fickle and cryptic with others, and their decisions.
- in addition, the ability can make whysra frankly a bit doting; a hypocritical likelihood, considering whysra can not discern their own destiny. trying to form their own sense of self, they press upon the importance of others. it doesnt go both ways
- they are a powerful seer’s mesmer clone, who died and created said clone’s likeness with the appearance of their sylvari friend in mind. its confusing, they are confusing, everyone is confused- whysra is hard to both understand and reach as a result
- their love for people is also a flaw by how they distribute information; and in any close relationship, and may withhold more than usual out of worry.
