WITCHRAFT — WICCA — BLACK MAGIC.
It’s no secret that Morticia is well versed in the ways of witchcraft and black magic. Granted, it is not common place (nor socially accepted) for Wiccans to participate in anything dark or diabolical. Spells and hexes are not one in the same in fact, it is frowned upon within the craft to participate in anything that involves selfish acts or cruelty upon others. For the Frumps however, they do not play by anyone else’s rules but their own and as an Addams, Morticia does not falter in her own traditional ways when it comes to her craft. Although they do practice the art of dark magic at times, it is a rarity and never done without warranted reasoning. Mostly, their use of magic in general is used for good; prosperity, health, a means to assist others and those in need, especially within the family. Rarely ever used for personal gain, though at times it has been conducted depending on the circumstance and always done lightly and very carefully.
As a child, Morticia was heavily taught in all ways of magic by her mother along with her sister, Ophelia though Morticia embraced her inner power a bit more strongly. Ophelia, preferred to use her spell casting in other ways that were far less personal; planting flowers wherever she went, helping them to grow through magic and conducting her own breeds that could assist in the workings of other spells and potions. She enjoyed to experiment and many times, they would experiment such things together.
Morticia on the other hand, was fascinated by all forms of witchcraft that stemmed from all around the world. She didn’t always practice them, but she enjoyed studying them all as best she could. It remained a fascination for her even throughout adulthood while Ophelia stuck to her own unique preferences. This would remain as the defining factor that would hold their mother’s affection in assuming that Morticia held a higher interest and therefore, was more conversant. Though that is argumentatively the case. They each held their primary specialties; their own power in which they embraced. Quite often, they would practice their spells together, using Ophelia’s creations and conducting new experiments of their own that complimented well with Morticia’s many potions.
