not a confession but a question. ive only been a fan of emilie's for a couple years now. idk how i just recently discovered her. but i myself have been in and out of mental hospital most of my life so maybe thats why. but i was wondering if u knew the name of the hospital she was sent to? every time i try to google it i only get results talking about her book instead of her real life. and it made me wonder if she ever even said what hospital she went to. because if nobody knows im kinda starting to think she lied about it or at least over exaggerated a brief stay. ive stayed at mental hospitals for almost a year at a time and ive experienced some horrific things personally. but the way she talks about hospitals and being at them just seems really fake to me. i cant quite figure out why. but i just wanna know if ppl know for sure what hospital she actually stayed at and for how long. ?

The hospital is unknown, but it's in the Los Angeles area.

I was wondering if anyone can remember what old faction they were in (VKA, Pyrate Crew, Cannibal tribe etc)? Also would it change now? I'd love to hear the mods answers too!

I work in theatre, & I used to fantasize about designing the asylum musical set. But w/ more experience, & given her behavior, I think Emilie would be v difficult to work with. She's personally invested & particular about every detail, she takes criticism poorly, & she's spent ~10 years waffling around w/ the same ideas w/o getting much done. Poor management makes producing theatre hell, & I can only foresee this ego trip of a project being a hot mess behind the scenes, if it ever happens.

I mean. Emilie is a good musician, but what she's doing is harmful. I like how people constantly jump down Melanie Martinez's throat for having a song called "Mad Hatter," but say nothing about Emilie feigning sh on stage. And while I recognize that Emilie herself is bipolar and has struggled with these things, she still claims that her fictitous, often exaggerated stories are truth. It stigmatizes inpatient hospitalization.

This NFT stuff doesnt suprise me, the images she is selling are just the same recylced ratty striped stocking BS shes been selling for years. I used to be the BIGGEST EA fan. I was part of the forum. I argued with people who called her out for promises she didnt keep etc and defended Emilie on many occasions, but I look back on that time now and cringe so hard. If people get comfort from "The Asylum" like I did back then I suppose thats ok, but maybe its time for this 40+ year old woman to stop glamourising mental health coated in a dreamy Victorian aesthetic. I didnt seek real help because it was cool and a quirk to be part of her Asylum, she understood me in a way my IRL friends didnt, I am depressed and thats ok because Queen Emilie is too and shes doing just peachy. I feel for her newer young fans who will possibly lose time to be healthy like I did. Let this be a line she has crossed to squeeze yet more money out of fans who so desperately want a place to belong.
