I finished Wicked and I made it up to page 240 in Torn. I barely moved for 24hrs 🤪 Going to try and finish the trilogy today, before I have to go back to work tomorrow.

“The Queen” Release & Review

WHAT A MARVELOUS ENDING TO THIS NOVELLA TRIO!

Jennifer L. Armentrout always writes with such humor, angst, and longing, that she’s easily one of my top favorite authors. The Queen is strong and emotional as the conclusion for the series of novellas that takes place in the Wicked world. I’m pretty much obsessed with everything in the Wicked Series by JLA, as JLA writes about the fae world and the human world coexisting in a contemporary New Orleans setting. I’ve been dying over this novella series for years, and The Queen was no exception.

This particular novella picks up right where the last one left off, when *spoilers* Brighton finds out she’s pregnant with The King’s baby. This complicates things, because if she stays with Caden, then there’s a prophecy that foretells the destruction and end of the Summer fae--the only ones keeping the evil fae at bay. So yeah, lots of angst ahoy. My heart was literally in tatters, and I’m pretty sure I cried for Brighton. Have some tissues at the ready.

I only wish I had more in The Wicked Series, and the ending of “The Queen” leaves a door open for more books. That, or the ending is purposefully ambiguous as to the Summer fae and their plans. I’m really hoping it’s the first one, though, as I can’t get enough of this world!
