By locking himself away in another part of the house, Orion isn’t so deaf to the world around him. He can still hear the rapid footfalls of the children upstairs as they race back and forth down the hallway, the music of the party still going in full swing outside of his office.
But Orion needs to sober up. He’s been hit on the back a few too many times by Alphard for the flicker of irritation to even begin to diminish. Closing his eyes, the Wizard leans back in his chair, the front two legs rising so that Orion can prop his feet up on the desk.
Steel grey eyes only flutter open when he hears the doors do so. There’s only a small number of people who can enter his office without worrying about potential retaliation, and she has always been one of them. “I’m not avoiding anything” Orion sighs, closing his eyes again as he pinches the bridge of a long and slender nose. “I believe I'm merited a moment for on account of my good behavior”
All legs, both of the chair and his own, settle on the floor again. He looks at his wife bored but at the very least she has more of his attention than anyone else can boast to. “What’s your excuse?”
