Turns out this post also relates to another event that is post-poned this year! Last year our Feminist and Queer Happy Hour co-hosted one of the Wicked Queer films. Because we were co-hosting the screening of the film Tell It To The Bees I gave a brief introduction. 

My friend Michael (pictured in his fab Times Up t-shirt!) joined me for the screening. After the film we went out for Ethiopian food at Blue Nile in Jamaica Plain, Massachusetts. I love that place! And it was packed.

you shouldn't be supporting a lesbophobic and butchphobic person like wickedqueer. that's gross.

idk, I've actually "met" wickedqueer on various online hangouts... I'm not sure where the lesbophobia accusation comes from. the butchphobia thing is like "misandry" in that the whole point is valuing and prioritizing the needs and emotions of femmes (no more "you're oversensitive.") which, with my past couple of years, I get... although I didn't personally buy the "trust no butch" pin, it was a freebie. I don't own it anymore.I actually had to argue my case for a "i killed jenny schecter" as wickedqueer had rethought that slogan and retired the design, but I feel like the slogan is about killing off the negative sides of your queerdom and integrating yourself. also, I loved the whole twin peaks-y last season so.the thing I like about wickedqueer is that the stuff is unapologetically still kicking against the patriarchy, transphobia, and the mainstreaming of queer... where else are you gonna get your wedding hurts my feelings <3 cards for all your friends wedding needs?
