☕ ((If this is okay to send out of the blue! From Lucifer @widdlestwucifer to any of your muses, even Lucifer to Lucifer
Charlie leans to the side and rests her head on top of his, hair sliding over to dangle down her dad’s back. It’s a comforting way to end the old year, sharing a quilted blanket and luxurious hot chocolate stuffed with dick-shaped marshmallows (unfortunately, the only kind that ever seemed to be available every time she visited the store…) and homemade whipped cream. It’s too bad that it doesn’t snow in Pride, but bathed in the light of fireworks as they pop off one after the other —
She’s content with this. Some of the past anxiety slowly shook off to make room for special moments. While it does hurt that she had been sent to voicemail earlier again; Charlie didn’t have time to feel disappointed for long when instead of her mom picking up, Lucifer came over to invite her to watch the fireworks together on the balcony. She still had her dad that she could always count on, and he’s been proving it time and again that she could depend on that. That he, too, wanted her in his life. That he was proud and loved her. That he really, genuinely, cared.
“Happy New Years, Dad. Did you make a wish?” Hers was that she could spend this next one with her father and friends, and fun experiences in this Hotel. More than her dream alone, she’s starting to really realize what makes it all worthwhile is the loved ones she’s surrounded by. The future remained uncertain, but the warmth of those closest to the princess was trustworthy. “If you say it now, I’ll keep it a secret. Um, mine was for more good memories with everyone together. I’m really happy you’re here to form them with us.” With me.
At the end of it all, she could only hope that she showed him the same, and if not, then she would from here on out. The two morningstars against the world.
