🌞Looking back at some of my fave moments of Summer 2021...even though #Juneteenth was technically a couple of days before the official start of Summer. I was so happy to see my sister Diana and my niece and nephew come out to #JuneteenthJubilee at Fort Greene Park to see me and my art (hanging on the fence behind us.) 🌺 This was an all around amazing day, and my first in-person event after a year of quarantine. I love exploring New York City on foot. Even with a plethora of taxis and trains to get you where you want to go, it’s only in New York that you can cross a bridge over the Gowanus Canal and witness a pop-up recreation of a nineteenth-century abolitionist movement that the group @wideawakes organized. Or find a working fridge with free food — I took and ate a tomato 🍅. Today begins early voting in New York State — so I’m waiting in a long line (but it's worth it).
