High Cliff State Park.

I have ALWAYS been a huge fan of Devil’s Lake State Park, but High Cliff State Park in Sherwood, Wisconsin may have just become my all time favorite! Two hours northeast of Madison, this big park is absolutely AMAZING, especially in the fall! There are many different trails for all athletic abilities and a Marina for Lake Winnebago. The views of the lake here are second to none, especially from a top the cliffs! Absolutely worth the drive!

Wisconsin DNR Warden Supervisor Dave Walz had just finished his shift when he received a call from the Vilas County Sheriff’s Office - a curious bear cub had found itself in a newly constructed open basement. While the cub’s mother and siblings watched from afar, Walz, with help from the homeowner, used a ladder to help the cub escape from the basement and reunite with its family. Mirror Lake State Park:

Fall is THE BEST time of hiking in Wisconsin! The leaves are all changing color and the bright, crisp and cool days are perfect for pants and a long sleeve! If you are looking for a less challenging hike (more of a stroll really) in comparison to Devil’s Lake, head over the Mirror Lake State Park! It has a gorgeous walk through the woods and right along clear Mirror Lake that is perfect for a few hours! Don’t forget to get your DNR annual pass, otherwise you’ll have to pay $8 for the day!
