A handsome widow skimmer showing off his stripes in the afternoon sun! Males of this species are usually beautiful, but I especially like the bronze-blue this individual has going on. I don't think he's fully colored up, so his blue hasn't come in all the way, but it looks great on him! His white bands are also quite thin, but they will grow with time, and they look great on him as is. It's not often I find a good looking male dragonfly, since most species go for a solid blue, so seeing male widow skimmers for the first time was a treat!
