.10 (Childhood Story - Mother/Son Relationship)
To anyone who knew Clint, it was no surprise he and his son got on very well. Clint was essentially a big kid at heart himself. The man had no problems relating to his child, and so most of Archer's time was spent with his father.
For Natasha is was harder. To those who didn't know her, they'd assume something mundane like postpartum depression, but such was not the case. For the first few years of Archer's life, she legitimately did not know how to handle her son, a son she didn't know she'd ever had and a son she almost lost several times. Sometimes it led to Natasha isolating herself and just... crying. She never let Archer see it though, she didn't want to think about the affect it may have on her son. Though the more she watched her son instantly go to his father and look to him for play time... the more she felt own child didn't love her.
One day Archer and Clint had been playing together, but the little boy decided he wanted to go inside for a while. That's when he walked past the open door of Natasha and Clint's room. She was crying.
Archer walked in, startling his mother and she looks at him. The young boy walks right up to Natasha and takes her face in his hands.
"Mommy, why are you crying?"
"I-It's nothing honey, don't worry about it."
"But I am... mommy you're too pretty to cry."
"What?"
"I have the prettiest mommy in the whole world, and you should always be happy, cause I love you."
And he just leaned up on his tip toes and hugs her around the neck. It only made her cry more, but after that day, never once did she doubt her child's love for her.
"How many time have I told you to be more careful?"
"At least fifty mother, and you're gonna have to tell me fifty more... remember I think I'm invincible?" he gives a crooked, bloody smile.

ooc; I immediately regret this.
He's a precious, derpy, ass kicking little baby who just really loves his mama and never wants to disappoint her.
[ Rip your heart out meme ] "You're such a disappointment."
It felt like a knife had been driven into his chest and it took every ounce of self restraint not to actually grip his chest. He couldn't dare show weakness now, he couldn't risk being a further disappointment. But... he was weak. "I'm sorry mother...."
