Things I've Learned Over The Few Years I've Been Doing Magic:

- Fuck Around and Find Out is a solid way to figure out what works for you

- Don't hex the moon that's a stupid idea

- On the flip side hexing your shitty landlord is always morally correct

- What you're good at and what you think you're good at are often very different things

- The type of magic you do, feel drawn towards, and are good at can and will change over time

- Sometimes spells you used to use won't work anymore. Reasoning can vary

- Feeling drawn towards something feels different than simply being interested in it

- Hexing is a lot more broad than you will probably realize at first

- You will probably have to unlearn a lot of the stuff you ran into in the beginning

- Spirit and energy work somehow usually get involved at some point even if you avoid it

If you are a witch or magic practitioner and enjoy getting tattoos; I've found a very easy way to perform a basic spell is through using a brand called "Tattoo Goo". They have a color preservation type gel that's used to moisturize the skin that has rosemary oil in it and it's incredibly easy to just speak or think a couple of words of intention as you apply it to your tattoo.

This week on the list of things to do for research and magical purposes:

- Research how slag glass is made

- Barbed Wire & Personal Protection

- How to make a metaphysical sledgehammer

- Binaural beats again (meditation and energy work works really well with this I've found, at least for my very loud brain)

- Cleaning The Bones; particularly vertebrae. Something about being able to over power someone else's will using vertebrae comes to mind and I want to mess with that.

- Talk to Clarity again

- Follow up with local land spirits regarding The Bones

Less pressing matters including cleaning my fucking altar space, debating the worth of vape and ecig products as offerings compared to traditional tobacco offerings, seeking out a Watersnake spirit again.

This could either go really well or really poor depending on the circumstance

Sometimes it's very hard to not blame the gods for everything that happens in my life. And I know that's probably some unresolved religious trauma, but it's very hard to not want to pin the blame on something, anything else rather than just accepting it happened.

In my case it's been very hard to remind myself that Loki is not maliciously bringing chaos into my life and that he is not an omnipotent being. Especially when it comes to the fact that I'm healing from a relationship where my now ex was the one who introduced me to this spiritual path and Loki to begin with. Watching Loki just stop intervening (from my PoV) and watching everything go up in flames has left me feeling abandoned and angry, and wanting to pin the blame on something.

I feel like continuing to practice anything other than spellwork occasionally has become a mental drag and hard to bring myself to participate in. As such I've not been talking to my deities as often unless I'm telling them how angry and hurt I am, so I don't feel like I hear them as much. And I don't want told that the gods aren't angry with me and that the gods would never hurt me, because a relationship is a two way street and if I lash out I don't expect them to be particularly pleased with me. But at the same time I hope they can see that I'm trying, really really fucking hard and that I know blaming them for everything negative that has happened is counter productive.

Sometimes witchcraft is just making some really good ramen and eating it with the intention of feeling better because of the association with chicken broth & healing from sickness.
