Wihwin is basically a Central American version of kelpie. A mostly horse-shaped creature with huge fangs who dwells in the sea but hunts humans on land during hot and dry seasons. Super fun to design and draw!

Description: The Miskito version of the Greek Hippocamp or the Celtic Kelpie, the Wihwin is an aquatic spirit said to take the shape of an aquatic horse that devours people who come near its habitat, typically mountain ridges. It is seen in the summer months.

The wihwin is a malevolent water spirit in the beliefs of several Central American belief systems, particularly that of the Miskito people. Described as a horse-like creature with horrid teeth, it is similar to water horses from European folklore such as the kelpie.

The wihwin is said to live in the sea, but is able to walk on land, prowling trough mountain ridges in the summer months. It hunts after people at night, devouring them.
