The things I want her to do to me
A monster with such inconsistent descriptions, this particular illustration vaguely based on the Challicum Bunyip with some mixed bunyip features. Bunyips make various freshwater regions, such as billabongs, rivers, swamps, and more their home.
i found a picture of the ettamogah bunyip before it was left to rot!!
Oh my gosh! Is this your own personal photo? It's SO HIGH QUALITY!! I couldn't find this photo anywhere else online, so this very well may be new content!! Thank you so very much for this pic, Ricky!!
For those who don't know, the Ettamogah Bunyip was an animatronic bunyip created by the same people who made the original Bert/Bertha (Murray Bridge Bunyip) in the '70s. She was created for Ettamogah Animal Sanctuary in Albury, Australia (now closed) where she was a special little encounter with the mythical creature! Much like the Murray Bridge Bunyip, you could pay for her to rise above the water, and she'd growl and even spit water at you!
Apparently, she was prone to mechanical failures, and by the year 2002, she was abandoned entirely, left to rot in the elements. The park would close 10 years later, in 2012, the park would shut its doors for good after the council decided to not renew their contract.
At last report, she's still sitting there under the Aussie sun, slowly decaying. :( It's sad to see such a lovely old friend in such rough shape.
Under the cut is a picture of what she looks like as of eight months ago, courtesy of u/alextheseal1996 on Reddit. HUGE warning for animatronic gore/decay :(
