        —————          The Phenomenal One wasn’t in the best of places right now. In fact, he’d admit that these last few weeks have been AWFUL and he didn’t think it could get worse until he suffered an injury during the Royal Rumble match when a returning Edge speared and eliminated him not even ten minutes after he entered. Between that, wondering if he’d make it back in time before Wrestlemania, and questioning where he’d be on the card if he was to make it back in time, there was a lot on his mind. At least she was here to help take his mind off things.

       —————          And though his arm might’ve been in a sleeve and he had every reason to scowl, AJ couldn’t help but smile at Alexa. God, he still loved this woman so much more than he thought was possible. They might’ve been on different brands but he still tried to keep in touch with her because he didn’t want to lose her. AJ inhaled a heavy breath as he looked down at the sling that held his arm and shoulder in place. “Even when I’m beaten up and broken?” he wondered - his voice questioning in a tone that was half-serious and half-joking. Before AJ continued, he lifted his chin and his blue hues looked over at Alexa who sat a little distance from him. He wanted to move closer. He wanted to sit right next to her and wrap his arm around her just like he would back when things were good. For now, unless she made a move, AJ kept his distance from her because he’d rather be safe than sorry. “I still think about’cha. You know that? I think about’cha a lot. Maybe even too much. I dunno what really qualifies as too much but you’re always on my mind. I miss you.”

Golden accented black gloves rested on the younger’s right shoulder as AJ approached his girlfriend - two individuals following closely behind the United States Champion. Some might consider them to be an insurance policy but they were his brothers. Where Styles went; so did the other two. Within reason, of course. Styles gave Alexa’s shoulder a rub as he spoke up. “You’ll get ‘em next time, sweetheart,” he said. The Phenomenal One took a glance over his shoulder to look at Karl and then a glance over the other to look at Luke before his bright blue orbs fell back onto Alexa. “Lemme tell you something, babe. How ‘bout you ditch that crazy spider monkey and invest in some good brothers. Take it from me. They help you get the job done. They helped me. I mean, jus’ take a look at this here championship I’m holding.” AJ removed the championship from around his waist and gently placed the red, white and blue title on his girlfriend’s shoulder. He leaned down so that his mouth was a little closer to her ear. His words being said in more of a whisper now. “That could be the Raw OR Smackdown Woman’s Champion if you had the right back-up.”

                        SOMETHING LOOKED DIFFERENT ABOUT HER.      a frown etched in otherwise flawless features was something unfamiliar and perplexing to see. there was an idea of what might have the   goddess   down on her luck, but jay learned a long time ago that assuming only ended bad. though, to see such a confident and strong woman so unlike herself, so doubtful and maybe even   sad   caused the new zealand native to at least wonder if it had anything to do with the fact she wasn’t going to be appearing at elimination chamber. never one to shy from running his mouth, a small head tilt was used as a   prompt   contemplation on whether or not to approach and question. everyone walked around her without care, without concern that she may or may not have been okay. a soft growl let out at the thought. if   anyone   understood what it was like to be so fucking good at what you do and be overlooked for so long and not believed in, it was jay. and thus the decision was made to speak with her.

                        slow, sauntering steps brought him closer toward the woman of a much more   petite   stature. his hands shoved into the pockets of his tight white jeans while he stopped and rolled back on his heels.      “   they don’t realize what’s missing here...   ”      an affirmation to her talent that wwe clearly was unaware of with the lack of alexa on their pay–per–view.      “   i know at times it feels like you need to   change   who you are in order to please those who are ignorant to the greatness you possess, but don’t fall too far from who you are. they can cut us, but we’ll   wear our scars. sooner or later they have to see what’s in front of them.   ”

Something about what Ronda said had rubbed her the wrong way. Maybe it was that condescending tone which hid behind her voice. Maybe it’s because Ronda had made it sound like Sasha was going to be just another defense in her road to Wrestlemania. Either way, as someone who commanded respect, Sasha wasn’t happy with the way she was spoken to. Alexa was doing her best to calm Sasha down and bless her for trying but there was no way she was going to get Sasha to relax. “BACK OFF, BLISS!” she spat at the blonde without even thinking much about what she was saying. No wonder she hates you sometimes, Sasha. You’re not exactly that nice. “I’m NOT in the mood to deal with your little pep talks. I want you to leave me alone.
