Thor did open the door. Mainly because he thought it was Korg with a fresh beer crate and the newest console exclusives they all agreed to buy. When he noticed Nat instead, his smile was still there but less genuine.

“Oh. It’s you.” He took a quick glance and invited her in. Even though he was far from wanting to be visited by his colleagues from his past work, he wasn’t going to let her catch cold.

His house was a mess filled with leftovers and empty bottles. Definitely not the best place to live in. With a swift move he threw empty pizza boxes from one of the armchairs on the floor while inviting her to sit down. “Beer? We have crafts.”

His breath had stuttered as he watched Nat get hit. She was fast, but the bullets kept coming at them. It was only a matter of time until either of them got hit, and she just happened to be first.

She rolled and got into cover, and he wasn’t far behind, at her side to examine the wound. Low on her stomach, to the left. No vital organs, but gut wounds were still messy and dangerous. He took her hand and pressed it against her own wound, his right hand covering hers and helping to apply pressure. In the meantime, he leaned around the corner, gun still in his metal hand and let loose another round of fire.

“Try harder,” he grit out, ripping the sleeve off his metal arm and using it to try and stop the bleeding. “Can move?”

“Dammit, Nat. Why didn’t you just LISTEN to me?” She was frustrated to say the least. “I told you to stay down and you just HAD to do the opposite, didn’t you?” The cover was blown and now there was an injury.

      It was slow day in the Sanctum, something Stephen was thankful for. It meant he had more time to work with his hands, seeing as it had been a while since he’d worked on strength training for his fingers. As he made his way from the kitchen in the Sanctum, having needed something to drink, back to his office, Stephen began to hum softly under his breath.

     As he walked through the hall, the subtle hum that left him began to turn into a soft whisper before making itself into words. It was a song he had heard earlier on the radio when he’d been working and it had found a way to get stuck into his head.

He had gone off on his own. Of course he had. He could go scouting by himself and some of the Guardians (well, one) seemed a little uncomfortable around him (though it was mostly amusing). Either way, he was confident he could defeat the probably fifty creatures that had suddenly appeared out of thin air and attacked him. Swinging Stormbreaker with precision and summoning lightning to take out the ones on his side, he made quick work of these howling creatures.

Except once they were all gone, he noticed something. A ring of very creepy looking caves. Well, it made sense. They were right next to a creepy planet--Vormir. “Huh,” the god of thunder said aloud, shouldering Stormbreaker as he made his way into the nearest cave. 

“Hello?” he called, lighting up his ax with some sparks so he could see. “God of Thunder here. Looking for a green female with knives. Wondering if she’s here? No?”

“i promise i’m okay. i’m... handling things.”

she was fiddling with her fingers in front of her, picking at a bit of glue that had dried to her hand. she wouldn’t admit that she wasn’t coping well, her pride once again getting in the way of everything else.

“i’ve got a few things i need to finish working on, so that helps a lot.”

“There have certainly been-- more peculiar pairings.” Tim admits with a chuckle. He was of the same mindset, other peoples opinions mean little to nothing, and rumors would stir, but it didn’t matter.
