The WikiPearl is the design behind a new dessert called Perfectly Free. The idea for the WikiPearl technology was designed by a company called Wiki Foods, which created the technology used to package their frozen desserts. The outer layer of these delicious desserts is composed of algae and calcium or fruit and coconut particles much like the outer waxy layer of a grape or apple. This coating is able to withstand both contact and washing without melting, or contamination of the product beneath it. It doesn’t break down and leach chemicals into your food, and it makes no mess, or waste. Inspired by its fruit counterpart, this coating can be applied to virtually any food and acts as a no-mess container for storage and transportation.
