In the last couple of years of going to a conference about online video, the power of sound has come to my attention.
A demonstration by dolby in one of the sessions demonstrated the perception of quality of a video with good sound and bad sound no matter how good the video portion was.
It was incredible. The conclusion was that the quality of sound should be considered first, then the quality of the video.
The video I’m sharing above is a demonstration of sound in different environments. The Wikisinger sings the same song in multiple environments. A beautifuly creative way to demonstrate how the same thing can sound completely different depending on location. No mention of what should be considered good or bad sound, simply showing a menu of auditory options.
