Red Rain | | Kay & Fitz
Kay returns from a meeting at a S.H.I.E.L.D safe house, only to be injured by the alien attack. Fitz finds her and assists her in getting to safety.
Fitz: The sun was out shining bright, glinting off the smaller snow piles as Fitz burrowed into his jacket and made his way through the crowds. He had gone out for a bit to try and check in on a few agents, but now it was time to head back to the lab and get working on a new assignment Skye had messaged him about. Apparently, there was a new energy signature moving close to Earth, but the team had no idea what was causing such an output. Fitz was supposed to be realigning a few SHIELD satellites in hopes of finding an explanation behind the occurrence, something he began to do on his cell as he walked. He had only just finished the adjustments when something streaked across the sky and barreled into some nearby buildings.
It was like a door was opened straight to chaos.
People began screaming and running from the new threats, pushing back against Fitz until he moved over to the side of a building and watched the people pass. He needed to call this in, but he also needed to see the threat in question. As if on cue, two hulking, red, things erupted from the buildings and began tearing up the street. If it wasn't for Loki's blessing, Leo may have succumbed to a panic attack then and there; instead he focused on the people that were trying to outrun the giants.
Taking a quick breath for clarity, he began jogging up through the crowd, towards the beasts. He could see a few figures attempting to fight them off already, leaving him enough time to start helping the wounded. He had just stepped onto the road when he spotted her. It was one of Stark's lawyers, Kay? laying out across the pavement. Taking a cautious look up, he made sure the newest threat was oblivious as he raced over to check on her. "Hey! Kay! Miss Kay Barry- are ya alright?" He skidded to a stop as he neared, taking note of the small cuts on her face and hands. "We need ta getcha out of here."
Kay had just been to a safehouse to meet with a client. As far as she was concerned, the day was an average, ordinary one. Just another workday and as she left the safehouse, checking to see if she hadn't been followed - discretion was important after all. Of course she hadn't expected what came next. The blonde raised her head towards the sky as she began the walk back to her apartment, frowning as some sort of object rolled across the sky barrelling into a nearby building. Then she began to silently panic, as two red...aliens? came out and started attacking. Kay wasn't at all proficient in self defense and she genuinely felt terrified. Even more so as a chunk of debris came flying out of nowhere and hit her, sending her flying to the ground. Raising her hand to gingerly touch her forehead, the blonde winced as she realised she had a rather large gash on her forehead. Glancing down to the ground, Kay realised that she was bleeding through her shirt as well. The shock sent a numbing sensation through her body as her legs turned to cement. She heard somebody say her name and a slight smile came on her face despite the shock "Fitz?" she asked, recognising her former colleague. "I think it was debris or shrapnel," Kay murmured trying to think and behave rationally, despite the rising panic in her veins.
Leo winced and looked at Kay carefully, grateful she could still talk, but worried at how much she was bleeding. "Alright, let me look at ya. If somethin' comes up behind me, scream." He bent down and cupped her jaw lightly, turning her head just a bit to the side so he could evaluate the cut. It was still oozing a bit of blood, but it was nothing too extreme. . . nothing he couldn't handle. "Alright, this is what we're goin' ta do." He looked down to his bag and pulled out a few spare napkins, passing them over to Kay as he pulled out a few more. "We're gonna put this on over your cut, an' you an' I are gonna take a stroll over ta the Avenger's Tower. Then you're gonna lay down an' I'm gonna take care of you. Alright? But you'll have ta stand up, can ya do that? An' then I can take it from there." Leo tried to smile at Kay, keep her calm, while he pressed a few of the napkins to her forehead. It was one of the worst make-shift bandages he could possibly have. . . but it could still help a little. And as long as she could stand, he should be able to either carry, or support her as they walked the few blocks over.
What Happened Next: Fitz helped patch Kay up and kept her calm as the pair made their way to Stark Industries where they waited it out until the rock men were confirmed to be gone.
