There was something about this woman that struck him different from most of the people heâs met in New York thus far. Something quizzical or even perhaps trained. Sure it seemed like she just wanted to get to know the big guy in shiny armor armor but part of him couldnât keep from thinking that this coffee break was partially for her own interests.Â
Despite his thoughts he decided to answer her questions, after all there were no immediate signs of trouble for answering this womanâs questions, aside from getting noticed that is. Although getting noticed was something he had expected as an eventuality once he really started intervening in crimes and wrong doings publicly.Â
âI appreciate it.â Aksel said with a smirk before following her, his arms swayed in broadly now rather than being tightly folded over his chest. He followed at her side keeping about a foot between the two. âYou are a curious one, arenât you?â He responded with a soft chuckle. âIâve been here nearly as long us the others of my kind and New York just as long. Although I requested reassignment here a tad bit later than the others, for personal reasons.â He added choosing to stay away from his failures in Asgard.
He couldnât help but smirk at her compliment towards her armor, although it wasnât terribly different from the others of Asgard he still took much pride in wearing it, he felt as if it partially defined who he was and was raised to be. Opening the door for the two he responded âWhy thank y-â he trailed off as the smell of Coffee hit his senses. âWhat in the nine realms is that aroma?â He said feeling enticed y the unfamiliar scent.
âMy great aunt encouraged curiosity. She told me that if I stopped asking questions, I may as well sew my lips together.â Carter laughed, noting the habits of the man to her right. The distance was obviously a personal choice, though it wasnât as far as she was used to from a man who knew nothing about Carter. It was odd, yet comforting at the same time. There seemed to be a semblance of trust there.
His response perked Sharonâs ears up and dragged her away from noting his physical gestures. What could his personal reasons have been that brought him here? Were they good, or harmful? Was he a threat she would need to be wary of?
Before she could put much more thought into it, they were stepping into Estherâs. âThat, my dear Asgardian friend, is coffee. Itâs essentially the life-blood of humanity, if you want to think of it that way. And Esther, the greatest woman in the world, makes the greatest coffee.â She smiled kindly to the older woman, quickly turning to Aksel before they could step much further in.Â
âYou should know, Estherâs married. No flirting, no flexing, no nothing. Sheâs a maneater, I realize. But please try to keep the shiny armor on your body.â She raised her brows, staring him down for a few more moments before walking up to place their orders.Â
