Three Bay Roans by Renee Lund Via Flickr: These 3 Bay Roan stallions are beyond gorgeous! They stopped just long enough for me to snap a couple shots then took off to join the multi band group that had just passed me. The stallions tend to be some of the last ones out of the area after making sure most if not all have left as they round up the end.

Living in the desert southwest offers a variety of wildlife to see. The wild mustangs of the Onaqui mountain range are always a thrill to see.

Glorious Stampede by Renee Lund Via Flickr: Witnessing these flashes of colors, shapes and sizes passing by is like flowing liquid paint that hasn't dried quite yet on the canvas. The Lord is the "Artist in Residency" and is the Master of creating poetry of living art. As I captured each frame I couldn't help but hear the thundering sounds of hooves hitting the ground with purpose and intentional direction. There's nothing like hearing them communicate with each other with whinnies, squeals, and snorts.

I heard on the news yesterday that another one of the wild horses near me was found shot and killed out on the range. The Palomino stallion a lot of people called Pyrite or Goldie was found owner the weekend. I can not comprehend the mentality of people who would do such a thing.

I have been many times out to visit the wild mustangs of Utah. I love looking back thru the pics over the years and finding these memories. I need to plan a trip soon before winter sets in.
