Kit hissed in frustration as he was blasted away from the creature. He wasn’t sure what it was, nor how it was shooting lightning from its claws, but he needed to kill it before it did any more damage.
Surely there was someone in this gods-forsaken city nearby who could help him with this, he thought to himself. The beast roared and he snarled back, leaping forward into range before dropping to a knee and planting his hands on the ground.
Large vines shot up, splitting the concrete and asphalt and wrapping the creature’s arms. He straightened, spun his staff in one hand, and prepared himself as the beast tore free of the vines and tried to slam him with a massive clawed hand. Kit lunged out of the way, rolling and rising again as a fox. He needed the maneuverability right now. There was no way he could break through the creature’s thick armored scaly hide, he needed to keep it busy and dodge until help arrived.
He saw movement from the corner of his eye and knew that someone was finally here. The creature swiped at him again and he leaped and landed on its arm, running up and crouching on its shoulder a moment. No purchase. Need a new plan. He jumped and dropped the wildshape to grab the creature’s horn and pull himself up. Okay. Now what?! The creature roared and shook its head at the unbalanced weight now on its horns. Shit! Shit! Shit! Now would be good! He thought to whoever the hell had shown up.
