Rhus trilobata / Lemonade Bush / Three Leafed Sumac (Anacardiaceae) Emily of @sundialmedicinals and I nibbled on its sour vitamin C rich berries while hiking deep into a canyon in Utah last month. Like other sumac berries, they make a great tea, too. They’re great as an immune boost or summer snack. Historically, this plant’s twigs and branches were used in basketry and mats where it grows. It slightly resembles Poison Oak, a closely related plant in the Anacardiaceae family.
