Hi! I know it might be weird but do you know any military fics where both of our ineffable husbands are humans? Looking for smth long and probably angsty. Thank you in advance!🤍
Hello!
It looks like there are only a few military aus out there.
This one is one of my favorites and the only one I could find that’s both long and angsty:
Whatever a Moon Has Meant; Whatever a Sun Will Sing by Beckers522 (E)
There was a photograph, torn down the middle. Pieces scattered as far as the East is from the West. Thousands of kilometers separated them now, as the world fell to pieces around them. And yet, if someone were to look closely, if someone were to traverse the space between them and lay the folded and worn parchment flat on the table, if someone were to line them up just so, they might realize that the two pieces fit together like the pieces of a puzzle, Like the gears of a clock. Like a nut and a bolt. Almost as if they were made from the same stock.
This is a tale of love and of loss. Of heartache and of hope. Told in three parts, follow Aziraphale and Crowley as they navigate the hardships of growing up, the horrors of war, and the miraculous wonder of finding love in the most unlikely of places.
The others are all around or under 10k.
Tied to the Ocean by lordvoldemortsnipple (G) - wip
The orders were simple: sail to the uncharted waters and recover the treasure the Devil of the Sea has stolen, but the task isn't easy. No one who ventures beyond the Queen's domain lives to chart the way to Captain Lucifer's territory. No one, but a dubious acquaintance Aziraphale has hidden from the Navy for many years.
40 Days in the Desert by wildtrak (M) - wip
Against his own better judgement, journalist Anthony Crowley takes a dangerous assignment as an embedded correspondent with a team of British Royal Marines on a tour of duty in an active combat zone.
He's not expecting much when he meets Captain A.Z. Fell. Crowley hasn’t met many military types that he would voluntarily spend time with, but there is something strangely compelling about the soldier with bright blue eyes and a hidden past.
Crowley is determined to unravel the mystery—until disaster strikes and his ride-along becomes a fight for survival.
War-Marked by Meridians_of_Madness (M)
A few universes over, the war in Heaven never stopped- it just got a new theater.
The angels and the demons turned Earth into a battlefield, and Crowley goes spying for Hell behind enemy lines as a camp follower. He doesn't expect to find himself under the protection of a nervous lieutenant named Aziraphale.
He doesn't expect a lot of things.
You are so Alive, My Love by VelociraptorNamedLucifer (NR)
Anthony J. Crowley is a Canadian soldier who had to leave behind Alexander Aziraphale, a teacher back home in Ontario, Canada, to fight in the war. Anthony writes a series of love letters to Aziraphale throughout the war, but never sends them; not knowing if Zira loves him back
Arms Wide Open by Wheudonym (T)
Azira Fell has been in the British Army since she was eighteen. Antonia Crowley, her closest friend, has been watching her leave for the past twenty years. Saying goodbye was something they had gotten used to doing. It wasn’t easy. No, Azira would never call leaving, knowing she wouldn’t see her best friend for the better part of a year, easy. Well-practiced? Yes. Easy? No.
Here’s one where they’re not really in the military but they’re telegraphists! It’s another one of my favorites:
What Hath God Wrought by saretton (E)
Do you remember, my darling, the early days when there were just fingers and air and sounds – a rhythmic beeping in the day, a frantic answer in the night? The orange glow of lamps. Coding and decoding. Choosing the words carefully, never too many, but always enough. ----- A Good Omens Telegraph AU.
