How my mind works: there are 6 Obsidians. There are six colors. Assign each character a color because rainbow.
Aurora - Blue
We associate her with the sky (bc of her name) so its only fitting that she gets blue. Plus she's the only Ravenclaw so she's gotta show off her house pride. Although it's my personal hc that she hates the bronze accent that the House is given, she's a gold girly!
Charity - Yellow
I associate her with yellow bc of her house but also because its a nice, bright, and eye catching color. Perfect for a friendly, bubbly girl who was able to befriend several Slytherins. Plus I associate Charity with daisies, which only have yellow and white.
Wilhelm - Red
So, im not to sure on what the consensus is on Wilkes, but I remember some ppl having the hc that he was in Durmstrang before transferring over and that he supposedly killed someone there before coming to Hogwarts. I also recall the @souryam did some fanart of Wilkes where he was wearing red and it looked so good, that I cant not associate it with him. Besides, red is the color of romance and I always headcanoned him as being a hopeless romantic, especially for Edmund.
Bruce - Orange
Mulciber is another name for Vulcan, a god of volcanos and forges, so I thought orange would suit him quite well. I also kind of imagine Bruce as a very passionate person, when he feeling things, he'll feel them strongly. His emotions can range from a firey inferno (which is often channeled into a more productive activity such as quidditch) to a warm hearth.
Severus - Purple
Severus is the halfblood prince, so of course he'd get the color of royalty! Also it's the closest color to black which the the color I originally associated him with. (Also purlpe is my favorite color and Sev is my favorite)
Edmund - Green
I'll be honest, Edmund kind of was left for last when it came to assigning him a color, but I think it still fits. He, like Aurora and Charity, is showing off his house pride. I like to think of him as the literal stereotype of Slytherin: Rich, posh, rude, prejudiced, ect. so of course he'd get to be the one Slytherin who gets to rep his house colors.
I'm just gonna dump this hc for Edmund here: its commonly accepted that Edmund has a blood curse and that blood curses are genetic. I kind of headcanon Edmund as having the Maledictus curse in his family line, and because he was born male (or at least male enough to not show the same symptoms as his female relatives) the curse doesn't give him symptoms that can lead to a diagnosis. Healers are literally fascinated by the Avery Blood Curse because it gives the Avery's such different symptoms. Edmund is the only one in his family who has had to use a cane while still in school, making him stand out not only from his peers but also from his family.
