Me Before You
“Live boldly, Clark. Push yourself. Don’t settle. Wear those stripy legs with pride. Knowing you still have possibilities is a luxury, knowing I might have given them to you. This eased something for me. So, this is it. You are scored on my heart, Clark. You have been the first day you walked in with your sweet smile and your ridiculous clothes and your bad jokes and your complete inability to ever hide a single thing you felt. Don’t think of me too often. I don’t want you getting sad. Just live well. Just live. I’ll be walking beside you every step of the way. Love, Will.”
— Will Traynor (Sam Claflin), “Me before you”

01/01/2026 - 1/365 Me Before You, 2016 Runtime: 110 minutes. I enjoyed this film a lot. I really enjoyed watching the connection between Will and Lou especially as you rarely see romance formed between two dissimilar characters like these. I loved the way you could see a difference as fhe film progressed in Will‘s mood and attitude with Lou’s presence was beautifully done and overall I was a big fan of it. I however would’ve liked for it to end differently. I’d have liked for them to get their happily ever after but I mean who wouldn’t? I also enjoyed the contrast between the characters overall lives. I like how Lou didn’t have much in life but was overly joyous and how we came for money but we see that with all the money in the world it means nothing if you don’t have happiness in the health I most definitely would rewatch this film because it was a very bittersweet one which I thoroughly enjoyed. 3.5/5 follow me on letterboxd!
