I don't think John would ever, or its very unlikely that he would actually do this, but you know what? We're gonna have some fun.
So an AU that in his will John put a stipulation that if he did not have a son by the time of his death and Michael is to inherit then for Michael to become the next Earl of Kilmartin he must marry Francesca.
Now John does have his reasons for this. He does not expect to die before having a son. Actually, he plans to have a long life with Francesca and their children. But you just never know. His uncle died when he was young, and Francesca's father was taken by a bee, a bee! John wants to make sure that should something happens to him, Francesca is taken care of, and he trusts no one else to do that besides Michael. Also, John isn't stupid. He's seen the friendship his wife and cousin share, and he knows had Michael met Francesca first it is very likely she would have been his wife.
So yes, should heaven forbid it happens, he's gonna play matchmaker from the grave. Now again, John isn't stupid, so he won't make them marry right away. In the will, there will be a five year engagement periord allowed. If they marry before the five years, that is fine, but they must be married in five years.
Again this is all hypothetical. John doesn't plan to pass anytime soon, but it's best to he prepared. Good thing he was because no expected the aneurysm that had him passing in his sleep.
I'm debating if ghost John shows up to matchmake. Feel like it be fun, he be teaming up with Papa Bridgerton.
