home, memory.

Home: The city states of the MechCraft Union exist in a snowy climate within nestled within the mountain ranges of the worldly northern territories. The cold, barren landscape forced the development of technologies for farming and survival that formed the basis of the MCU’s formative years. 

Memory: The pride of his family when he graduated with his masters and his acceptance into the automation division of their state. They gifted him his first wrench that day which he carries with him still, along with a photo

For Will: Why and Home!

Why: Will is trying to find his way in life and one day hopes to find a way back to his original world and his family.

Home: Will comes from a collective of city states each run by a technology company called the MechCraft Union. Everyone in a state falls into a tech, leadership or service caste. Will himself is a member of the tech caste. The MCU maintains neutrality from the State and their enemies by supplying all equally.

Where did they learn their abilities? Higher education and university in his homeland If they have an income, where does it come from? Will earns his keep by building machines and keeping the castle grounds supplied with electricity Do they have a job? Former AJCO engineer now machinist for the Castle Crew Do they like it? How do they feel about their co-workers? He likes his new job and coworkers more than the last

30 Days of Character Development - Day 4

What are some of your character’s hobbies: Tinkering with tools and machines What do they do with their time: Mostly spent working in his workshop improving a manufacturing process or producing a prototype Favorite colour: Green Favorite books or authors? Any written texts regarding construction of tinkering with mechanisms Political stance: Not sure he has a particular stance but if pushed he'd likely lean towards the left What are some of their pet peeves: People leaving his workshop in a mess What sort of gifts do they like: Practical things that will help him out in his tasks What is their favorite time of day: There are times of the day? Will generally doesn't notice as he keeps in his workshop most of the day Favorite weather and season: (answering these together as the answer is the same). Colder weathers and seasons as it tends to get warm in the workshop. Plus it reminds him more of home where the climate was a lot colder than the continents of the State. Where do they like to spend their time: Already answered that in "hobbies" Favorite food and drink: Drink would have to be coffee as its the thing that keeps him going most of the time. As for food, Will prefers simple things that he can eat quickly and on the go so as to not disrupt his work. Favorite animal: Cats due to their independence Do they have any pets: None but would like a cat What relaxes them: The whirring of a freshly installed and efficient machine after a long week of working on it Do they have any bad habits: A fairly binary perception of the world where he sees things as either fixed or broken

30 Days of character development - Day 3

Choose a different time period and describe what your character would have been like in that time period.

Time period: Medieval times

Will would likely have worked as a blacksmith for the nearby castle. Toiling night and day to produce weapons and arms for the soldiers and tools and horseshoes for the local laborers.

Personality wise its unlikely he would be any different from the person his is now. Fiercely loyal to whoever he serves. Always looking to find ways of improve and refining his forging techniques.

How do they usually dress? Dungarees with plenty of pockets and loops to hold tools, t-shirt, bomber jacket and fingerless gloves What do they wear to sleep:  Pretty much his dungarees but with the straps undone. (He changes into a clean pair in the morning! He's not that lazy!!) Do they wear jewelry? No as he'd be too concerned about it getting caught in a machine he was working on Is there anything about their appearance they wish they could change? What do they smell like: Mostly machine oil Do they have an accurate mental picture of their appearance (how they see themselves versus how the world sees them): Truth be told, Will isn't too bothered about how people see him. His clothes are are functional and allow him to do his work.
