About Will:
Born to two young witches who came from dangerously skilled powers. His mother, worried about what their lineage would do to him, made the hard decision to give William up for adoption a few months after his 2nd birthday.
On the eve of his 4th birthday, Will was adopted by Simon and Percy Cuevas, a quite wealthy and loving couple who had wanted a child of their own for a long time.
He was raised mainly in Seattle but the Cuevas family always had a second home in Cardinal Hill since Percy's family is originally from there. Both Percy and Simon are witches and adopted Will knowing that one day he too would show powers.
And show powers he did! Powers a bit too powerful for his father's understanding so throughout most of his life he had a tutor, Syd. She was more like his aunt than a tutor but she taught him how to be in friendship with his powers and didn't shy away from hinting that his biological family had something to do with his powers being so strong.
When he hit his teens, Simon learned that he was diagnosed with prostate cancer. In an attempt to be closer to Syd and the rest of their witchy community, the family officially moved to Cardinal Hill and William started high school there. Those teenage years were tough and Will coped by kind of folding into himself. He wasn't really one for sports but he loved being outside, loved working with his hands and spent most of his time doing as many odd jobs as people would hire him for. He had his group of friends and a few in particular who held him steady but Will didn't always make the best decisions, especially once he got a car and used it mostly to drive out to the edge of town and spend some time away from it all.
Fortunately, Simon was able to make a recovery and has been in remission since William completed his first year of community college. It wasn't that he didn't have the grades for a four year college, he just had no interest. As a promise to his father's, he got his associates and went to work for Syd's construction business that her family owned.
He became a bit shy about his magic, despite how well trained he is. And as things in town progressed, he has started to train a bit more, wanting to be as prepared as possible.
The job as the groundskeeper at the Chapel kind of fell in his lap one Sunday after mass. He had been telling one of the priests about how bad their flowers were looking and next thing he knew he was being offered the opportunity to care for them. This was where William excelled. He might not have had a prestigious degree but he loved to read, frequently visited the library and took out as many books as he could about landscaping and gardening.
He's been the groundskeeper at the Chapel for almost ten years now and he's a man who loves his routine and loves his town.
But as things in town have become more frightening, William is wondering if it's finally time to search for his biological family and find out if there's anything he can do to put a stop to this.
Will lives on his dad's estate in a smaller house further back on their property. He has a lot of money and a lot of material things but he's a generally very simple guy. A bit unaware of just how much he has access to.

BACKGROUND

Will Graham is the main protagonist of NBC's Hannibal. He is a criminal profiler and hunter of serial killers, who has a unique ability he uses to identify and understand the killers he tracks. Will lives in a farm house in Wolf Trap, Virginia, where he shares his residence with his family of dogs (all of whom he adopted as strays). Originally teaching forensic classes for the FBI, he was brought back into the field by Jack Crawford and worked alongside Hannibal Lecter to track down serial killers.
Will has a unique psychological ability that he refers to as "interpreting the evidence". In reality, he is able to assume the state of mind a murderer has after visiting the crime scene and recreates the thinking (as well as the actions) with himself as the killer in order to understand more about them. Hannibal Lecter describes his ability as "pure empathy", even though Will is shown being able to empathize only with dark people, which posits a question about his real state of mind.
He can empathize with psychopaths and other people of the sort. He sees crime scenes and plays them out in his mind with vividly gruesome detail. Will closes his eyes and a pendulum of light flashes in front of him, sending him into the mind of the killer. When he opens his eyes, he is alone at the scene of the crime. The scene changes retracting back to before the killing happened. Will then assumes the role of the killer. He moves to the victim and carries out the crime just as the killer would have. He can see the killer's "design" just as the killer designed it. This allows him to know every detail about the crime and access information that would have otherwise not been known. He has admitted to Crawford that it was becoming harder and harder for him to look. The crimes were getting into his head and leaving him confused and disorientated. During one such experience, he lost track of what was going on and thought he was murdering a victim. He threw the door open, drenched in terror, only to see the BAU team standing outside the door. They all looked as confused as Will when they saw the terror on his face. Will was relieved to know he was working but worried his ability was starting to take its toll on him.

I have it where Will is tied to the ocean; he doesn’t like it because he has to keep the role and social standing as blacksmith up, but the ocean calls to him. The freedom calls to him so he tries to fight it but frequents beaches to look out
