Just a tiny scare || Tallahassee AU || Neal and Emma

Emma bit down on her lip as she stared at the calendar again, her math had to be off. If her math wasn't off, then she was due a week ago and she hadn't even gotten a glimpse of it. But still there were at least a dozen other explanations for the lateness, and that had to be part of it. After all work had been a bit stressful lately, they were giving her more responsibility, going as far as using her to investigate some of their seedy opponents. Maybe that was it, after all she had been late in the past before. But still she was a bit worried, the last time she had regarded this type of thing as something stress related, it had been when they found out about Henry.

With a sigh, she pushed a strand of hair from her face as she walked out  of the room to check on Henry. He had taken a nap, but he was due to wake up soon, and Neal was due to come back from the store soon as well. She'd have to talk to him about this, after all she had promised she'd tell him if something like this ever happened again. She peeked in the nursery, something clutching at her insides when she saw Henry fast asleep. She kissed his head softly before heading back out into the kitchen when she heard the apartment door open. Relief flooded through her as she walked to greet Neal.

Relearning Fairytales || Tamara and Neal || Storybrooke

Tamara sighed, playing the act well. She rested her head in her hands, waiting for Neal to return home. She knew very well of the fairytale world and what it held, but that didn't mean Neal had to know that. To keep him oblivious was the plan right now, she knew he hated magic, but also knew to keep her plan rolling, only her and Greg could know; and even their information was limited.

When she heard the door open to their room in the Inn, she turned her gazed, giving him one of her saddest looks. "Neal," she said, rising from her chair, wiping her eyes before fully turning around. She walked over to him and wrapped her arms around him, pressing her face into his shoulder. "I'm sorry I accused you of lying. This is just a lot to take in." She let out a frustrated sigh. "And you and Emma," she shook her head after saying so, letting her voice trail off. "I just want to be honest with each other. Okay? And I do trust you."

Bed time stories || Tallahassee AU || Emma and Neal

Emma held Henry, she was trying to get him to fall asleep but he wasn't really cooperating. Neal was working late, and that was partially the reason Henry didn't want to fall asleep. After all he had grown used to his dad telling the bedtime stories, and that's what he wanted. "Come on Henry, you need to sleep" she muttered quietly, to which he replied no. She tried not to laugh, he was definitely her kid, stubborn as hell. "Daddy will be home soon" she assured him. Deciding that the chances of making Henry go to sleep without Neal home, she decided to settle him down on the rug, to which he responded that he wanted to play.

Emma sat on the ground with him as they played, finally when the apartment door opened, Henry scattered to his feet, something he had gotten better at doing, and wobbled out of the nursery and headed down the hall. With a laugh, Emma chased after him to make sure he didn't fall in his hurry to get to Neal, and she did end up laughing as you could hear the almost two year old exclaim that Neal was home.
