New fanfic series: Claytown: Basic summary plus main characters
In Claytown, all sorts of strange and wacky shenanigans happen. With a huge cast of characters, things are never dull. But sometimes, things can get very serious. This is in an AU from the original franchises, albeit most of the characters remain similar to their original selves.
Basically, Claytown brings together characters from HIT Entertainment, Cosgrove Hall, Chapman Productions, Aardman, Will Vinton Studios, Bumper Films, and Art Clokey Productions. With special guest appearances from Rankin Bass and other studios.
Here are some of the main cast:
Engie Benjy: Mostly the same as his original counterpart, but he can be more of a deadpan snarker at times, usually only when he is frustrated. However, he's mostly an upbeat and cheerful guy. He does have a secret insecure side, dislikes conflict and has claustrophobia. Together with his dog Jollop and his van Dan, they go around helping others with their issues, sometimes not even mechanical related. Benjy sees Big Chris as a cool uncle figure.
The Noid: Agent of chaos, enjoys ruining pizzas, and basically causing mild trouble in general. The Noid at first seems to just be another troublemaker, but does have a secret heart of gold. He's very close with the California Raisins, Rex, Herb, and other Vinton characters, much to the confusion of others in Claytown. He also has standards, and despises Wilshire Pig.
A.C.: Cool and suave, the man with a plan, and a natural leader in general, A.C., being the lead singer of the California Raisins, is one of the most popular celebrities of Claytown. He can get a bit absent minded at times, but is very loyal to his friends.
Rex and Herb: Two critics with different personalities who just so happen to be dinosaurs. Not too much different from their versions from Claymation Christmas and Freak Previews.
Gumby: Near identical to his 1980s personality, but is slightly more reckless.
Noddy: A friendly sentient wooden toy, looking near identical to how he looked in Toyland Adventures, but with his red shirt now being a hoodie. Noddy is always willing to help someone in need, and is very caring, but also can be mischievous at times.
Big Chris: Pretty much the dad friend of the group, Big Chris hasn't changed much from his original counterpart. With him, Marsha, and the cars now living in Claytown and no longer having to deal with Mr. Carburettor's harshness, they can relax more often. However, this also led to Big Chris stressing out more often and trying too hard to be the best he can be. He's gotten a bit more overprotective of Roary, especially after a horrible accident nearly got Roary killed. However, in spite of this, both Engie Benjy and Noddy look up to him as a role model and tend to learn a lot from him.
Marsha: Similarly to Big Chris, she's not too much different from her original counterpart. She has mellowed out a bit, but is very concerned for Big Chris due to him being more stressed out, and also fears for Roary after the accident.
Roary: Near identical to his original self. Roary is as cheerful as ever. However, Roary had a bad accident that almost killed him, forcing Big Chris to require help from Benjy and Tiny, and while he doesn't outwardly show it, is still very much traumatized from what happened and has a fear of magnets as a result.
Fireman Sam: Near identical to how he was in the first four seasons of the stop-motion show, Sam is an inventor, who is wise and caring, but has moments of forgetfulness. However, he's still one of the best firefighters ever, and isn't afraid to call out mischief makers when they get in trouble. He was surprised and very emotional once he reunited with his long-lost half-brother Joshua Jones.
Joshua Jones: In this AU, Joshua is a little bit older than Sam, by a couple of years, and is his half-brother [same mom, different dad]. He left home at 18 due to feeling too much pressure to continue the family farm. Although he had lost contact with his family for a while, due to now basically living on a small boat, he never forgot about them and always tried his best to reconnect with most of them. He was very emotional when he reunited with his siblings, especially Sam. He does sometimes regret leaving the farm to begin with but is also glad he met and befriended various people over the years. Aside from that, he's pretty much nearly the same as his original counterpart.
I will introduce more characters in another post, as Claytown will have a decent amount of characters.
